Synopsis:

Anthony Bear and Christy Chapman are from two completely different worlds.

Anthony's the leader of a motorcycle gang that terrorizes Florida’s West Coast. As a child, he ran away from his family and the Cherokee Indian Reservation to enter a life of crime. As an adult, he leads a multifaceted life managing his two businesses—his legitimate landscaping venture, and his loan shark and underworld dealings. Driven by anger and betrayal, Anthony begins the hunt for Christy’s father, Van Chapman, after he runs out on a loan.

Christy’s privileged life is not as it seems. She has kept painful family secrets and hidden some of her own. She’s determined to find out the truth and expose Van, but her search delivers her right into Anthony Bear’s hands, adding kidnapping to his list of crimes.

Their worlds are as contrasting as the color of their skin. The only thing they seem to have in common is their mutual disdain for Van Chapman…and each other.

They couldn’t be more wrong.

Review: Surj

"The Iron Tiara" had Beth Flynn written all over it and if you've read the "Nine Minutes" series, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. If this author is new to you, then all I can say is, buckle up peeps, because you're in for the ride of your life!!!! "The Iron Tiara" was such a fucked up love story that should never have worked. I mean seriously, there was so much wrong with it, I should have  run  for the hills screaming blue murder and taken the heroine with me it was that wrong. BUT (and it's a massive big BUT), omg didn't it just feel so very right? It's difficult to explain what I mean without giving too much away but Beth Flynn did such an amazing job in writing Anthony Bear and Christy's story, that she had me rooting for this couple every step of the way, from their first encounter to the moment I turned the last page.

An heiress and a criminal, he thought. Not exactly a match made in heaven and
by normal standards,  one that could only end in doom.

Anthony Bear and Christy, as the quote above says, an heiress and a criminal? Like I said, this should never have worked. Not in a million years. I mean for starters, the way this couple met was as far from conventional as you can get. Then of course the fact that they couldn't have been more opposite if they tried. Anthony was the leader of a notorious biker gang and a criminal of the worst kind. I'm talking torture and murder, machetes and mayhem. I'm talking, if you cross this man, the chances are you will suddenly vanish off the face of the earth. Yeah, not the kind of man you'd take to meet your momma that's for sure. And then you had Christy Chapman, heiress to Bobby Bowen's Luxury Auto's. A woman who stayed on the right side of the law. A woman who was privileged from the day she was born. A woman who never wanted or needed anything. You know that saying "never judge a book by its cover?" Well that couldn't have been more true than in the case of these two characters. Boy did these two get it so horribly wrong and I loved being a fly on the wall as they each made the discovery that all was not as they had initially thought.

It had taken Anthony a while to see that the black and white world he'd
lived in was filled with more shades of grey than he'd wanted to admit.

Anthony Bear may have been a criminal but there was a side to him that just melted me. This big brute of a man had such a tender, protective side to him and god help anyone that hurt those he held close because once that beast was unleashed, there was no going back. And Christy, wow I loved this sarky, sassy, feisty woman who had a strength that ensured she was not a push over but equally, just like Anthony, had a tender, caring and very giving side that made me instantly warm to her.

"I can never see myself being crazy about an overbearing, bullying,
kidnapping, stubborn criminal. Especially an old one. Never!"

Told alongside the same time line as "Nine Minutes," "The Iron Tiara" was a story steeped in secrets.   Along with those secrets came a constant stream of questions for which I couldn't wait to get answers. In true Beth Flynn style, there was also a flurry of curve balls, twists and of course those jaw dropping revelations that left my head spinning. I loved that this author didn't always keep us hanging on to get answers and some times, questions and queries were resolved pretty quickly. I will say though, towards the end it did feel like there was an excessive amount of revelations which (for me), diluted the shock value somewhat.

A storm is brewing all right, he thought as he scratched his chin.
A storm that had completely ravaged his heart and pierced his soul.
A storm called Christy Chapman.

"The Iron Tiara" was one of those books that was a contradiction in itself. It was brutal, harrowing and pretty graphically violent yet at the same time there really was a beautiful, tender, heart felt love story that deserved to get its airplay.

A great addition to the "Nine Minutes" series that gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️
