Review: LH Cosway's "Showmance."

Synopsis:

Damon Atwood was Hollywood’s golden boy. Having won an Oscar at the tender age of thirteen, he had the life many could only dream about. But his success came at a price, and after a short but fruitful film career, he chose to live a life of obscurity on a remote Scottish island. Almost a decade later he’s finally ready to make his return, starting with a lead role in a musical on London’s West End.

As a choreographer’s assistant, Rose Taylor has always faded into the background. She watches shows come to life from the side lines, but has never craved the attention of stardom. When rumours begin circulating of Damon’s involvement in her latest gig, she doesn’t predict how she will be thrust into the limelight, nor how the mysterious and strangely introverted man will need her to teach him how to be a star again.

Rose knows that show crushes don’t last. Actors fall for each other during the intensity of a production, often losing themselves in their roles. These kinds of affairs burn bright and then they fade. The question is, should Rose let herself shine with Damon, or guard her heart from being broken after the final curtain call?

Review: Kirsty

Another absolutely brilliant book written by the talented LH Cosway.

I feel like every book I read by this author is unique. I never feel like I've read the plot line before, and for that alone I give Showmance 5 stars.

Rose Taylor is an ordinary girl, with a massive heart. Working as a choreographers assistant in the West End, she permanently has a 'thing' for the actors she works with. And the new guy in town, Damon Atwood, is no exception. Coming out of the woodwork, after years in hiding, he's a shadow of the person he used to be. Very quiet, shy and not too trusting of people. But there's something about Rose he can't ignore.

"He was closed off, never showing much but still
just enough to leave you dying for another glimpse."

I loved their slow build up, and again, I feel this is something that LH Cosway does well. There's never a rush in to anything, she takes it slow and really lets you appreciate the romance. Rose and Damon worked so well together, their personalities meshed perfectly, each one bringing the best out in the other. Giving each of them exactly what they need.

With the story told in both Rose and Damon's PoV we really got a feel for what each of them were thinking throughout. That's definitely my favourite way to read and enjoy a story. I need to know what each character thinks throughout their trials and tribulations.
The story may have been a little slow for some, especially the romance side of things, but for me it was taken at exactly the right pace. Making me appreciate their romance all the more.

She was a sea of calm to my troubled thoughts, and I wanted to feel more of that.

For those of you that like a series, were in luck here, because there is a promise of a sequel. Not about Rose and Damon, but about Rose's intriguing flat mate. And I for one, can not wait to read all about him.

I rated "Showmance" ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
