Review: Mari Carr's "January Girl (Wilder Irish #1)."

Synopsis:

She’s sleeping with the enemy…

After a nasty break-up, Caitlyn Wallace takes a year off from dating to focus on her career. The hiatus is working perfectly until she comes face to face with Lucas Whiting, the uber-rich, cutthroat businessman who is not above using questionable means to acquire something he wants. He wants Pat’s Pub and he’s not taking no for an answer. Caitlyn should despise the arrogant, cocky man for threatening her beloved family’s business, but there’s something about Lucas’ sexy, dominant nature that has the hidden submissive inside her trembling with desire.

What seems like a run-of-the-mill real estate deal to Lucas goes off the rails quickly when he meets the beautiful granddaughter of Pat’s Pub. Lucas never mixes business with pleasure, but that rule is quickly broken. One date turns into two and soon, Lucas and Cait are thrust into a steamy affair neither of them is prepared for. One that forces them to choose between family loyalty and love.

Review: Jo

This time last year I had started off the year with a lot of DNF's, however this year is looking so much better. I recently clicked "January Girl" as it was either free or on sale, and after seeing a lot of good reviews on Goodreads, I decided to make this my next read and I don't regret that decision one little bit. This novel was the hottest romance that I have read in a while. My kindle was on fire and I was enjoying the hell out of Lucas and Caitlyn's enemies to lovers story.

"He wanted to fuck her mouth, to claim her in no uncertain terms,
to prove to her that one night would never be enough for them."

Lucas and Caitlyn came from very different worlds. Lucas was rich, ruthless and arrogant and Caitlin was the complete opposite. She was warm, kind and caring and knew that there was more to life than money. On paper they shouldn't have worked. There was a big reason why the pair could not be together, but despite everything going against them, Lucas and Caitlyn shared a sexual attraction and chemistry that was palpable. I could feel the heat sizzling from the pages. Once the relationship began, the story was full to the brim with passion and steam as Lucas and Caitlyn explored the connection that they shared.

"When they kissed, she felt…something dangerous. Scary.
Something that would definitely strip her of all control."

There wasn't one thing that I didn't love about this book. From Caitlyn's lovable family to Mari Carr's style of writing. Everything just flowed so perfectly making it an addictive and exciting read. This is my second new to me author so far this year and I have already downloaded a few more of Mari's books. I can't wait to read them. My 2019 reading is looking good.  If you love a lot of smokin' hot D/s kinky sex in your books, I recommend picking this one up. You will love it!

"Reason gave way to emotion. Thinking gave way to touch. In this, she was an animal.
No guilt, no anxiety, no fear. She lived on instinct alone."

"January Girl" gets 4.5 ❤️'s from me.
