Review: Kristen Ashley's "Rock Chick Reawakening (Rock Chick 8.5)."

The Hopeless Romantics Book Blog were pleased to review Kristen Ashley's "Rock Chick Reawakening (Rock Chick 8.5)."

Synopsis:

From New York Times bestselling author, Kristen Ashley, comes the long-awaited story of Daisy and Marcus, Rock Chick Reawakening. A prequel to Kristen’s Rock Chick series, Rock Chick Reawakening shares the tale of the devastating event that nearly broke Daisy, an event that set Marcus Sloane—one of Denver’s most respected businessmen and one of the Denver underground’s most feared crime bosses—into finally making his move to win the heart of the woman who stole his.

Review: Surj

Kristen Ashley's "Rock Chick" series is up there with my all time favourites. It's a series that I quite literally inhaled one Christmas a couple of years ago, book after book I couldn't get enough of those sassy ladies, their "hot bunch" men and of course their crazy shenanigans. However, for me, despite this series being complete, I always felt that there was something missing and that was the story of Daisy and Marcus. Daisy was a rock chick after all and I truly felt that her journey to finding her HEA deserved to be told. I wanted to know what brought her into the arms of one dark and (what appeared to be) very dangerous Mark Sloan, a man who would walk to the ends of the earth for the girl with a laugh that sounded like the most beautiful bells in the world. So when Kristen Ashley announced that she would be putting pen to paper, I was beyond excited.

“I handle you with care. I’ll always handle you with care. I will never,
not ever, Daisy, give you reason to leave me. I won’t cheat on you.
I won’t beat you…..To end, you’re safe with me.
You’ll get from me only what you deserve, which is everything
I can give you doing it handling you with care.”

What can I say about "Rock Chick Reawakening?" Daisy and Marcus's story was just pure perfection. It had everything I could have possibly wanted and then some. This couple's journey was one full of so much feeling and emotion. I laughed, I cried and there were so many times my heart ached for this couple and in particular Daisy. Her life had truly been a challenge but her fight, her determination and her spirit ensured light at the end of what had been some very dark times. Daisy's character was inspirational and she really made me want to be a better person. I loved her get up and go attitude. I loved her generosity but most importantly, I loved that she was just so comfortable in being her own person. Her hair, her boobs, her rhinestones and her heels ... she seriously kicked ass. She really did remind me of Dolly Parton, someone who was happy in her own skin. In fact as I write this review I'm actually listening to Dolly.

I got treated all my life like I'd been treated because that's who I was.
I wasn't even trash. I was nothing.

And Marcus Sloan, that man had me eating out of the palm of his hands. As much as Marcus had featured in the Rock Chick series, there was very little I actually knew about him. I knew he was a bad boy of sorts but equally, I knew that his love for his woman knew no bounds. This book was such an eye opener when it came to his character and by the time I had turned the last page, my heart was a pile of push and my stomach was a constant flurry of butterflies going crazy with happiness and joy. Every girl needs a Marcus Sloan that's for sure.

“You’re safe now.”
“I’ve never been safe.”
“Okay, darling, but you’re safe now.”
“I wanna believe that. I wanna believe in castles.”
“You’ll believe,” he whispered.

What else can I say about this book without spoiling it I'm not sure but I can't recommend it enough. It was sugar and spice and all things nice with so much glitter and sparkle. And as for the epilogue, OMG, it really was the cherry on top, that icing on the cake. It left me with such a warm, fuzzy feeling that I'm sure I'll be feeling for days to come. This is one of those stories that will stay with me and I'm sure I will read time and time again when I need a "feel good factor" read. Wow, just wow.

“I’ve been waiting thirty-five years for you to come into my life, Daisy.”

Thank you so much Kristen Ashley, for this story. It really was just pure perfection and of course I rated it the ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️  it deserves.
