Synopsis

I was recommended this book by a friend and I am so glad that I listened to her, because it was a brilliant read. The story of the tortured rancher, Talon Steele and his sisters best friend, Jade made an addictive read that was difficult to put down. 

"She was everything that was good in the world, 

and if I stayed, I would destroy her." 

Bad-tempered and brooding Talon had me utterly intrigued. One minute I was swooning over him and the next minute I was afraid of him. This guy had serious issues and the more that I read, the more I was able to understand his behaviour. Talon's past was explained in a series of flashbacks that made for some very disturbing reading. My heart broke for what had happened to him. Talon needed help but was resistant to reach out to anyone. 

I really liked Jade from the moment I met her. She was a smart and independent girl, ready for a new life. When she moved into her best friends ranch, she got a lot more than she expected when she met Talon. The couple's relationship began pretty soon, which I enjoyed a lot. Talon and Jade were beyond hot together and throughout this instalment, shared an endless amount of steamy sex. If you like a lot of sex in your story, you are going to love this one! Lol. Talon and Jade weren't just about the sex, though. As Jade got to know Talon, she realised that there was something dark living inside of him. Unfortunately it was almost impossible for Jade to break down any of Talon's walls.

This was my first read from this author and she has got me hooked. I am about to one-click the next book, and I cannot wait to read it. With how this book ended, I am desperate to know what happens next for Talon and Jade.
