Review: Emma Scott's "Full Tilt (Full Tilt #1)."

Synopsis

Kacey Dawson has always lived life on the edge--impulsively, sometimes recklessly. And now, as lead guitarist for a hot up-and-coming band, she is poised at the brink of fame and fortune. But she is torn between wanting to be a serious musician, and the demons that lure her down the glittering, but alcohol-soaked path of rock stardom. A wrecked concert in Las Vegas threatens to ruin her career entirely. She wakes up with the hangover from hell and no memory of the night before, or how she ended up on her limo driver’s couch...

Jonah Fletcher is running out of time. He knows his situation is hopeless, and he's vowed to make the most of the handful of months he has left to him. His plans include seeing the opening of his glass installation at a prestigious art gallery…they do not include falling in love with a wild, tempestuous rock musician who wound up passed out on his couch.

Jonah sees that Kacey is on a path to self-destruction. He lets her crash with him for a few days to dry out and get her head on straight. But neither of them expected the deep connection they felt, or how that connection could grow so fast from friendship into something more. Something deep and pure and life-changing…something as fragile as glass, that they both know will shatter in the end no matter how hard they try to hold on to it.

Full Tilt is a story about what it means to love with your whole heart, to sacrifice, to experience terrible grief and soaring joy. To live life with all its beauty, and all its pain, and in the end to be able to smile through tears and know you wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Review: Jo

"I would love you forever, Kacey, if I only had the chance."

This book is one of most breathtakingly beautiful stories that I have ever read. It is one of those books that breaks your heart and leaves you utterly wrecked. "Full Tilt" has left me a shattered, emotional and grief-stricken mess. I am devastated, yet at the same time, I also feel blessed to have read this book and experienced this gorgeous love story . I feel like I have been right there with Kacey, through every single chapter, right by her side, sharing the most life- changing journey that began when she first met Jonah.

"I tried to keep the circle closed and my walls up,
keep to my routine...But you got in anyway."

Kacey and Jonah's story has forever left it's mark on my heart. I just know that I will never forget the beauty of their relationship . What started out as a tale of a limo driver and an upcoming rock star unexpectedly turned into something that I had not anticipated. I was captivated by Kacey and Jonah. I adored the development of their relationship but as soon as I learned the premise of the story, it was with a heavy heart that I continued. My stomach began to churn with the knowledge of what was to come. Despite my melancholy feeling, I was still able to delight in what was happening between Kacey and Jonah. Together they were something special.

"You can find beauty anywhere, even in the things that scare you the most."

I knew that time wasn't on Kacey and Jonah's side, so I embraced the good times wholeheartedly. I made the most of their love but at the same time, I was mentally preparing myself for what lay ahead. With the turning of the pages, I could feel my anxiety building. I began to be consumed with dread as the inevitable approached and I found myself willing for something to change. Maybe the story wouldn't play out as I'd feared. I just wanted a miracle to happen so Kacey and Jonah would be free to live their happily ever after. If there was a book god watching over, I wanted them to change the words and rewrite them differently. I had to stop reading on more than one occasion as I felt my heart beginning to crack and with it came the tears. Millions of tears. Once I had reached the final part, I was inconsolable. I recommend tissues, chocolate and someone to hug for this story. You are going to need at least one of those things. Lol!

"...loving her is the best thing I've ever done."

Throughout this wondrous story so many things shone through- Joy, happiness, courage, hope, trust but above all else there was love. Beautiful, awe-inspiring, made-my-heart-soar love. "Full Tilt" is a novel that is not to be missed and I implore you to add it to your TBR's today.

"I kissed Jonah Fletcher with all of my heart and
with every piece of my soul that would love him forever."

This amazing story gets 5 hearts from me.

*Before I go, I just want to add that although this story is the first in a duet, it can be read as a standalone*
