Synopsis:
There once was a boy, and I loved him.
Logan Francis Silverstone was the complete opposite of me. I danced while he stood still. He was quiet, and I was always running my mouth. He struggled to find a smile while I refused to frown.
The night I saw the darkness that truly lived inside of him, I couldn’t look away.
We were broken together, yet somehow whole. We were wrong together, but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows.
Until the day I lost him. I threw us away with one hasty decision—a decision that changed us forever.
There once was a boy, and I loved him.
And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.

Book #2 in the Romance Elements Series.
Complete standalone.
Review: Jo
"His Soul was set in flames,
and he scorched anyone who stood too close.
She stepped closer unafraid of the ashes they were destined to become."
I fell in love with this story within the first few pages of reading it and the more that I read, the deeper I fell. This was truly one of my most favourite novels from Brittainy C. Cherry, and one of the most beautiful and touching stories of the year so far. It was simply stunning.
I adored every single thing about this book, but it was the beauty of the two star characters that was the main appeal. Logan and Alyssa were something special, so perfect for one another. I loved watching this pair together. They were so important to each other, their bond was so strong and I melted with every single happy moment that I shared with them. Of course, there were bad times too, where my heart went out to the couple, especially Logan. That boy was surrounded by so much ugliness, yet somehow he still had a heart of gold. He was so just so beautiful, so easy to love, despite all of his demons. I was rooting for him throughout the entire story.
"Love wasn't a blessing, it was a curse,
once you invited it into your heart it only left scorch marks."
The story itself was, as always with this author, full of emotion. There were sweet moments, romantic moments but equally as many heartbreaking ones too. Nothing about it was predictable and I enjoyed having that element of surprise lasting throughout the entire story. This rarely happens with me, as I usually find myself second and third guessing the future. For the first time in what felt like forever, I just enjoyed being lost in that moment with Logan and Alyssa. I was bewitched by their gorgeous relationship.
"Her laughs became my inhales. Her smiles became my heartbeats."
And just when I thought that this book couldn't get any more perfect I discovered an epilogue that reduced me to tears!! I was reading it with big fat tears falling down my face that I could not wipe away because I couldn't bear to stop reading. It was the most heart-melting epilogues of all. Another favourite thing to emerge from this book.
"He was my life support, making my heart rise and fall,
over and over again."
"We loved each other with no restraints, no restrictions, no fear.
We loved each other with every kiss, every touch, every climax.
We loved the pain, we loved the scars,
we loved our wild fire that could never be extinguished."
"The Fire Between High & Lo" gets 5 hearts from me.
