Review: Bella Jewel's "Hard to Break (Alpha's Heart #2)."

Synopsis:

Quinn has spent her whole life working in her dad's garage, leaving her more comfortable with a carburetor than a curling iron. Her world is turned upside down when her beloved garage is bought by none other than world famous, sexy as sin, custom car builder, Tazen Watts. He's the one man she can't stand...even though he makes her hotter than a high performance engine in top gear.

Tazen has no use for Quinn, at least not professionally, and he's making sure she knows it. But there's a spark between them that she's finding hard to ignore. She's determined to prove her talent is as impressive as her sassy mouth. When she finds out Tazen is hiding a secret that could bring down his career and everyone involved in it, she wonders: is falling for him is going to be work the risk?

Review-Jo

After being a little disappointed by the first book in this series, I was a little apprehensive going into "Hard to Break." However I was pleasantly surprised because I actually enjoyed this story a lot. Quinn was having a bit of a tough time when her life was made even more difficult due to the sale of her family business, leaving a career that she loved being put on the sidelines. Quinn was a tom boy mechanic who had a real passion for cars. She was tough and fiery on the outside, but inside, her world was crumbling around her. Quinn needed someone to come to her rescue.

Tazen came into my life for a reason, and I'm beginning to think I
might just like that reason. Very much.

Tazen Watts entered Quinn's life when he became the new owner of her much loved garage. At first appearances it seemed as though Tazen was the bad guy of the story. To say his relationship with Quinn was volatile is an understatement. They really did not get on well at all. Their connection was filled with lashings of angst and sexual tension. The pair drove me crazy with the constant push and pull between them. I knew that if Quinn and Tazen could just stop arguing for a day or two, they would realise that they were actually perfect for one another.

We just kissed and I'm supposed to hate him. This is bad, so bad.

I liked Quinn's character from the very first page and my heart went out to her for what she was having to deal with. Tazen was a different story altogether. Because he initially came into the story as the bad guy, I felt as though I couldn't fully trust him. As the story progressed, though I did begin to warm to him and by the time I was into the last few chapters, Tazen had stolen my heart. Quinn and Tazen made the best couple, as well as their shared love of cars, they also had some extremely steamy sex scenes!! I definitely enjoyed those scenes! Lol.

"I've had a crazy life, I've had a lot of girls, I've had a
successful career but fuck, angel, I've never had you."

If you are looking for a standalone read and you love books that contain hot racing car action such as K. Bromberg's "Driven" or Samantha Towles "Revved", I'm certain that this story is one to add to your TBR's.

"Hard to Break" gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️   from me.
