Review: Brittainy C. Cherry's "The Air He Breathes (Romance Elements #1)."

The Hopeless Romantics Book Blog are pleased to be a part of the Review & Release Blitz for Brittainy C. Cherry's "The Air He Breathes (Romance Elements #1)."

Synopsis:

I was warned about Tristan Cole.

“Stay away from him,” people said.

“He’s cruel.”

“He’s cold.”

“He’s damaged.”

It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster.

But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.

We were both empty.

We were both looking for something else. Something more.

We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.

Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.

Review-Jo

Brittainy C. Cherry possesses a wonderful gift of being able to write the most beautiful stories. Each book that I've read from this author has truly captured my heart. "The Air He Breathes" was a powerful and thought provoking journey which made me contemplate my own life. What would I do if I woke up one day and my whole world was torn apart, never to be the same again? How would I cope? Would I be able to carry on living? This was the nightmare scenario that both Elizabeth and Tristan found themselves in.

"Sometimes tomorrow never comes and you're only left with the memories of yesterdays."

When I first began reading this story and realised what it was about, I was overcome with sadness for the main characters, Elizabeth and Tristan. Their stories truly affected me and I felt as though my heart broke over and over again until it was completely shattered. I could not stop thinking about the unbearable pain that both Elizabeth and Tristan must have been suffering. I completely understood the reasons why Tristan was acting the way he was. Shutting out the world and refusing to move on. His world was one long road of misery. He was completely and utterly lost, but then Elizabeth entered his world.

Lonely often recognized lonely. And today, for the first time,
I began to see the man behind the beard.

The relationship between Elizabeth and Tristan wasn't always easy. There were hard times and they both struggled to move on and escape the darkness that surrounded them, but together they had something special. I loved watching Elizabeth and Tristan's relationship grow, each time something beautiful happened between the pair, I could feel my heart being put back together again, just as Elizabeth and Tristan were both repairing their own hearts. Although they had many bumps along the way, I was so sure that they would find their happy ending together.

He was thunder, I was lightning,
and we were seconds away from creating the perfect storm.

Throughout Elizabeth and Tristan's story, I met a whole host of different characters. Some that I enjoyed, some that I didn't, and there were a few that stood out. First off was Elizabeth's best friend, she was hilarious. From the moment I met her, I knew that I would love her. She was so funny and completely over the top. She brought a little bit of fun into a story that was heartbreaking. I also loved Mr Henson. There were a few scenes that he was involved in that touched my heart and, of course I cannot forget little Emma who was just adorable.

If you love a story that is guaranteed to pull on your heartstrings, add this to your TBR's. You will love it. It is also a standalone, so everything is wrapped up nicely with the most gorgeous of epilogues that truly melted my heart.

"It's easier with you"
"What's easier with me?"
"Being alive."

"The Air He Breathes" gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️   from me!
