Synopsis

Kate Parello runs a volunteer program in Belize for Artists for International Aid, where she deals with self-centered artists who use the program as a means to repair their marred reputations. She loves the country, the people, and what AIA stands for, but too many diva volunteers have turned her off to press-seeking celebrities altogether and left her questioning the value of the volunteer program. When she meets incredibly handsome and charming Sage, he stirs emotions she hasn’t felt for ages, even though he represents the things she despises.

Laid-back artist Sage Remington escapes his wealthy lifestyle in the Big Apple for a two-week journey of self-discovery to figure out how a guy who has so much can feel so empty. When he meets ultra-organized Kate, who lives her life the way he’s always dreamed of living his, the attraction is too hot to ignore, but Sage is there to figure out what’s missing in his life, not to find a woman.

Every look, and every late-night chat in the romantic jungle brings them closer together, but Sage can barely think past stripping away Kate’s misconceptions about him. Kate fights him every step of the way—even though she finds it hard to ignore the strikingly handsome, generous-to-a-fault artist who wants to do nothing more than right the wrongs of the world—and love her to the ends of the earth.

Review-Jo Rushton

This is the second book in "The Remingtons series" but can be read as a stand alone.

I found "Stroke of Love" to be somewhat of a dreamy, sweet and romantic story that I couldn't help but fall in love with. It definitely melted my heart and turned me into a giddy mess. The two main characters in this story were Sage and Kate who met in Belize where Kate was a charity worker. Sage was a famous artist who was keen to volunteer his services to the same charity. When these two first met,  there was an instant attraction but Kate was cautious and regarded Sage simply as another shallow celebrity. Yes he may have had the looks and yes there was a connection but that didn't mean she was going to throw herself head first into any form of relationship.

"There was no way he was the kind of man she hoped to one day end up with-a man
who cared more about others than himself. A man who didn't put money ahead
of time spent helping others. A man she could count on."

But the more she got to know this man, the more she realised just how wrong she was.

Sage was using the charity work to get away from the city life. He felt trapped and longed for more purpose to his life. I liked Sage, a lot. he was confident, successful, intelligent and passionate. He was the perfect man for Kate, she just needed to recognise this and Sage was determined to help her along.

"As complicated as she was, when he was with Kate, his whole world felt different.
She'd snuck into his brain when he wasn't looking and weaseled her way
into the crevices of his heart."

Finally Kate gave in to the magnetic pull that she felt  for Sage and so a beautiful romance began. Sage and Kate made the most of the two weeks that they were together, getting to know everything about each other and ultimately, falling head over heels in love.

"Jesus, I want to carry you to that bed and make love to you right now. This second.
But damn it, Kate. I want you to know what kind of person I am, before we come together.
I can't be close to you knowing that you think I'm someone I'm not."

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the romance blossom between the couple, seeing their feelings for each other become stronger. Sage was such a romantic guy. I just loved how he cherished Kate. He made me swoon on more than one occasion!

"Kate, you're everything I could ever want. You're strong, and smart and generous and you're
sweet, and delicious. There's no better feeling in the world than what I feel when I'm with you,"

As the story progressed, and Sage's time in Belize was almost up, the couple were faced with the decision. Could their relationship last beyond Belize? Doubts and insecurities started to creep in but neither would talk about these and there were moments I just wanted to bang their heads together. They frustrated the hell out of me.

So did Sage and Kate get a happy ever after together? I am not going to say, You will just have to read it to find out for yourself!  "Stroke of Love" gets 4 dreamy hearts from me!
