Synopsis:

WARNING: STRINGS is not suitable for slut shamers, uptight stone throwers, Holier-Than-Thou prudes, humorless virgins, persons with chronic neck or back pain, pearl-clutching bitties, those who disparage crude humor or vulgarity in their many forms, closed-minded people with sticks up their asses, or anyone under the age of 18. The vile, base language and shocking, unholy sexual acts contained herein are not condoned by anyone with a lick of sense and should certainly not be reproduced without proper training and protection. The potty-mouthed and perpetually horny "heroine" (the term is used loosely) of this book does not resemble a normal, well-adjusted, or remotely believable person in any way, shape, or form. The author acknowledges that the characters in this book are shallow and two-dimensional; the plot is both ridiculous and insipid. She makes no apologies for any of it.

* Readers are strongly advised to wear latex gloves whilst reading to minimize contamination risks.

Free-spirited musician Letty Dillinger adheres to a strict, “no strings attached” policy when it comes to men. After a wild night of unabashed sex in a fancy hotel room, she never expects to see the adventurous stud she dubs “Shades” again. When her all-girl rock trio books a tour at the last minute as the opening act for their archenemies, Letty’s shocked to discover she knows the competition’s new lead singer. Intimately. Shades is no longer a one-night stand. Now he’s the guy she has to one-up on stage every night for the sake of her career.

Sharing close quarters on a bus with her sexy nemesis and his bad-boy buddies puts Letty’s Golden Rule to the test. On this tour, guitar strings aren’t the only things being played. And when heartstrings are pulled too hard, they’re bound to snap sooner or later.

"My name is Letty Dillinger, and I was born to rock your face off."

Oh boy does she rock your face off.
One thing that drew me to this book was the authors disclaimer in the blurb.. seriously, if you can give your fans a fair warning not to expect too much and just enjoy it for what it is, you're a winner with me. Having said that, I think Kendall Grey was unfair on herself, yes this book is FUNNY, it's not too serious and some things that happen are seriously questionable, there is actually a really, bloody good story there.

I love music. I love books. I love humour in my books. I love music in my books. I loved Strings.

This book was hands down the funniest, most hilarious fun time read I've read all year. Every single character was likeable, I loved the plot, I was interested and addicted to the whole read. I wrote in one of my updates that I just wanted to highlight the whole book and it's so true. The few highlights that I include here don't even scratch the surface on the genius that was this book.

Letty and Todd 'Shades' Armstrong meet on the eve of Letty's 25th birthday. She's had enough of not making it anywhere in the music industry and of waiting on sweaty old me for a living.. all she wants is hot one night stand.

"All I want for my birthday is to get fucked unconscious with no strings attached."
"What a coincidence. I've got a big dick, a bar tab, and the local cab
company's number on speed dial."

Genius. Just what she needs.. until the next time they meet. Shades is the new member of the band Killer Dixon who just happen to be headlining the tour that Letty's band, Cherry Buzz Float, are backing. And this is where the fun begins! Shades and Letty try to deny the attraction between the two, really they do. Surely the constant bouts of sex proves they are trying? But well, fate has other things in store for the two of them and no matter what they say, what they try to deny, there is no denying it. They are hot for each other in all the ways you can be for another human being. Nothing and nobody is going to get in the way.

"Every time this guy comes around, my pussy leaks. Lucky for me,
he's the worst plumber in town."

As I said.. I loved the other characters in the book, not just Shades and Letty. One of my favourites was actually Rax, the one we all love to hate. He was an asshole, nothing short of one, I'm sure we are all meant to hate on him but I couldn't. I found him hilarious and I am REALLY hoping he gets his own story soon enough. Another of my favourites was Jinx. Jinx is in Letty's band and I loved how in the beginning she was so quiet, we barely knew anything about her she was so quiet, but as the book goes on she comes out of her shell and we get to know her, little by little, but nowhere near enough. Again, I hope she is also soon getting her own story.

Being a book that so heavily centres around music is one of my favourite kinds. So when it's a fun read, mixed with all things music I am sold. I constantly felt as if I was at a concert, living the magic that Kendall was describing to us. The good, the bad, the hot, the ugly.. everything. I am so excited for this series and can't wait to read the rest of it.

"Two strings are strummed. One perfect harmony dances in my heart."

I rated "Strings" 5 big Hearts
