Tick-Tock…

My Review: Jo

Once again Gail McHugh didn't let me down with the sequel to "Collide", keeping me hooked throughout the whole book.

The story continued soon after Collide ended with Gavin and Emily both heartbroken and emotionally at rock bottom following the aftermath of what had happened between themselves and Dillon.
Emily was desperate to see Gavin, to ask for another chance but when she finally tracked him down Gavin didn't know if he could bare anymore heartache. He was shattered. A broken man. My heart completely went out to him:

"I am fucking dead, goddammit!..You killed me Emily"

Emily was left facing the consequences of the decisions she'd made, the guilt eating at her for her treatment of Gavin. She may have destroyed all chances she had of making things right with him:

"I'm so sorry, Gavin. I can't take away what I've done  to you. I know I can't but I love you.
God, I love you so much."

I'm so glad Gavin decided to give himself and Emily another go. He saw that the relationship was worth taking the plunge. I don't think my heart could have taken it if the decision had been anything else.

" The thought of not seeing your eyes when I wake up, or not hearing your heart next to
me when you're asleep made me sick...I can't go another day without you...you're mine."

The sparks once again flew between them. God they were so crazy in love and the passion they shared continued to burn:

"I want to break the rules with you. Kiss you passionately every day. Make you smile when you're about to cry. I want no regrets with us. I want us to laugh together until we can't breath. No man will ever love you the way I'm going to love, Emily. You're it. My last. My Forever."

Of course, the path of true love never runs smoothly so there were plenty more up's and downs along the way. Douchbag ex-FiancĂ© made an appearance and decided to cause a few problems and there was one major twist that had me crying like a baby! I really didn't see it coming, well done to Gail McHugh for that one (although it was an evil thing to do!).

This intense, "turn your world upside down" story is one of my favourites. It is truly unforgettable. I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved it. 5 huge hearts to Gail McHugh! Thank you for one hell of a read.
