Review: Tiffany Reisz's "The Rose (The Red #2)."

Synopsis:

Bestselling author Tiffany Reisz returns with an imaginative tale of lust and magic, and the dangers unleashed when the two are combined...On the day of Lia's university graduation party, her parents--wealthy art collectors with friends in high places--gift her a beautiful wine cup, a rare artifact decorated with roses. It's a stunning gift, and one that August Bowman, a friend of her parents and a guest at Lia's party, also has his eye on. The cup, August tells her, is known as the Rose Kylix, and it's no ordinary cup. It was used in the temple ceremonies of Eros, Greek god of erotic love, and has the power to bring the most intimate sexual fantasies to life. But Lia is skeptical of August's claims of the cup's mythology and magic--after all, he's a collector himself, and she suspects he just wants to get his hands on this impressive piece of art. So he dares her to try it for herself, and when Lia drinks from the Rose Kylix she is suddenly immersed in an erotic myth so vivid it seems real--as though she's living out the most sensual fantasy with August by her side...Realizing the true power of this ancient and dangerous relic, Lia is even more wary of giving it up, though August insists it is only safe with him. He's willing to pay the full value of the cup, but Lia has another type of trade in mind. One that finds them more tangled up in each other--and in fantasy--than either was prepared for.

Review: Jo

This was another captivating tale from one of my favourites. Tiffany Reisz has delivered a truly unique story that was utterly enchanting and in true Tiffany Reisz style, it was also scorching hot. I was mesmerised with every turn of the page.

"The thread of your life and the thread of mine
are knotted together for reasons unknown to me.
Don't fight fate, Lia. You will not win."

“The Rose” was a romance that completely swept me away, taking me on a journey from present day back in time to the Gods of Greek mythology. I was left spellbound by what was happening in each new magically erotic fantasy that Lia and August took part in. This compelling story all began when Lia was given an unusual gift for her birthday. From then on, Lia’s life was turned upside down as she discovered a new and exciting world accompanied by August.

"She wasn't afraid. As long as she was lost with August,
she didn't care if she ever found her way back again."

I easily became lost in this bewitching tale and loved reading about Lia and August and also adored seeing the pair become closer as the story progressed. I enjoyed getting to know Lia and August. I loved seeing the change in Lia and how her love blossomed over the course of the story. I was amused by Lia’s family and enjoyed the part that they played in the story. August was brilliant. I laughed out loud at his witty sense of humour and also loved getting to know his softer side and how much he cared for Lia.

"I'm going to make you fall in love with me. I don't know how, but I am."

This novel really did have it all. A compelling story, fantastic characters and a beautiful romance. I highly recommend reading The Rose. It gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️ from me
