Synopsis:

“I hate you. I never want to see you again.”

Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville—at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears every time a townsperson brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again.

Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons—sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer. But Grant is off limits because he knows too much about my past.

But I’m drawn to him. That damn uniform of his doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be my downfall. I know it.

What’s one night of sex going to hurt . . . right?

***

I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.

That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.

Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.

I’ll give her the one night she asks for—like that’s a hardship—but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.

Review: Surj

K Bromberg has given us a race car driver, a baseball player, a movie star and a rock star. Now ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves because (once again) we have been spoiled by this author. This time around peeps, we've been given a cop!!!! You heard right. We've got ourselves a man in uniform and he isn't afraid to his hand cuffs. Lol. Wow, this was such a fantastic introduction to the "Everyday Heroes" series. "Cuffed" was a book that drew me in right from the devastating prologue that left my heart feeling like a lead weight in my chest and from that moment, I was so captivated by Grant and Emerson's story, that I struggled to put this book down.

That's the funny thing about ghosts, though. You can't control when they appear
or how they might affect you, but they always haunt you.

"Cuffed" was a book full to the brim with feels and I'm sure there were times it looked like I had a split personality because one minute I was laughing like a hyena and then next I was sobbing my heart out but that's what this author does so well. Her stories are never one dimensional. There are always several elements to them and each draws different emotions from you. "Cuffed" had dark moments but they were balanced perfectly with light. There heart ache but equal amounts of humour. There was tragedy but this book was full to the brim with love and hope too. This was a story about a pinky promise between two children. A pinky promise that was broken and that ultimately tore their lives apart. No one saw it coming and the aftermath would be felt for years to come. Guilt, pain, hurt, and anger would play their parts when these two children crossed paths again as adults. But how do you get your best friend back when the trust is gone and the demons from years gone by are never far away? Sounds devastatingly tragic right? But honestly, there were so many laugh out loud moments, especially the first speeding incident. It was hilarious. Plus there were a truck load of swoon moments too.

She's sunshine with a little bit of hurricane thrown in, and I'm willingly walking
straight into her storm with nothing more than the clothes on my back.

So lets talk about our man in uniform. OMG ladies, Grant Malone was TO DIE FOR!!! He had it all. It was kind, caring, protective, funny and all kinds of alpha. I loved his relentless pursuit of Emerson. He had just got her back in his life and despite a truck load of resistance, he was not a man that was going to give up and even resorted to unconventional methods to win her back, like make her really really mad!!!! Lol. And Emerson, how my heart hurt for this woman. Despite all she had been through, there was a strength and determination within her and she fought hard to ensure her past didn't rule her present. She definitely gave Grant a run for his money with her ever present sass and feistiness.

"From here on out, we forget the memories and just chase the moments."

I loved that despite the undeniable chemistry between the couple, there was still a huge push/ pull between them. It was like a battle of wills. Rules were made but broken. Lines were drawn and blurred and trust me, these all made for some pretty hot and swoon moments.

The secondary characters played pivotal roles in "Cuffed" especially the Malone family and I cannot wait to get the stories of Grayson and Grady Malone. Desi made for the perfect best friend and I'm really hoping we get to see her get her own HEA too.

"Head up. Wings out."

"Cuffed" was a brilliant start to the "Everyday Heroes" series that gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
