Synopsis:

After an unexpected twist of fate, All-Star catcher Easton Wylder is left questioning the loyalty of everyone around him.

Even the woman who shares his bed, Scout Dalton.

But if Easton thought being uprooted to the last place he expected was the only challenge life had to throw at him, he was dead wrong.

With an ailing shoulder and his career in limbo, his decision to make an unexpected change leads him to question everything – Scout’s love, family loyalties, and whether he can conquer the one obstacle he’s never been able to overcome. The secret he’s never shared with anyone.

He may be a man pushed to his limits, but he’s hell-bent on proving his worth no matter the cost.

Review: Surj

After the mother of all cliff hangers in "The Player," fans were desperate to get their mitts on "The Catch," the conclusion to Scout and Easton's story. Well praise be to Kristy Bromberg because she didn't keep us hanging. In fact the two months between the books just flew by and we were put out of our short lived misery with what I can only describe as quite the epic ending to what has been such a fantastic duet. Having read "The Player" and loved it, the bar had already been set pretty high for Scout and Easton's story and I am pleased to say "The Catch" met, if not, exceeded my expectations.

I knew some day it would happen. That my secret would ruin something I loved.

"The Catch" pretty much started off where "The Player" had ended but let me tell you, that cliff hanger wasn't the only shock. There were so many secrets that were exposed, the brute force of many a revelation leaving my head spinning and more often than not had me reeling. Scout and Easton were put to the test time and time again both as individuals and as a couple and with so many outside forces working hard to make things difficult, I honestly wondered whether this couple would stand the test of time.

"Clear mind. Hard heart, Scouty-girl."
"What if I don't want a hard heart, Dad? What if I want a full one?"

My heart truly hurt reading this book. Honestly, the angst was off the charts and god did I feel for Easton. He really was being put through the wringer with no reprieve in site. From an early age,  this man had had to overcome unimaginable hurdles without the love and support of those who should have been there for him. Without a shadow of a doubt, his personal journey really was a painful and often soul destroying read that left my heart feeling like a lead weight in my chest.

Don't worry though, this book definitely wasn't all doom and gloom. You'll still get your  fair share of smouldering, sexy scenes (this is Scout and Easton after all) but you will also get those funny moments that helped lighten the load. Oh and the mystery and suspense surrounding some of the characters, OMG, I was desperate to get some inside information on those whispers in the corners and those secret glances. What the hell was going on behind the scenes???? It drove me crazy but in such a good way.

"Everyone deserves some pretty in their life regardless of the scars they bear."

Thank you Kristy Bromberg for a great duet. Thank you for the characters we couldn't help but welcome into our hearts and thank you for doing a number on our emotions with such an addictive story line.

"The Catch" gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

About the Author:

New York Times Bestselling author K. Bromberg writes contemporary novels that contain a mixture of sweet, emotional, a whole lot of sexy, and a little bit of real. She likes to write strong heroines, and damaged heroes who we love to hate and hate to love.

A mom of three, she plots her novels in between school runs and soccer practices, more often than not with her laptop in tow.

Since publishing her first book in 2013, K. has sold over one million copies of her books and has landed on the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists over twenty-five times.

In April, she’ll release The Player, the first in a two-book sports romance series (The Catch, book 2, will be released late June), with many more already outlined and ready to be written.
