Wow, what a way to finish a series Aleatha Romig. "Fidelity" is the final book in the "Infidelity" series and it really was the icing on the cake for what had been an amazing, captivating, enthralling and often crazy ride for our leading characters Nox and Alexandria. This book was one I couldn't wait to get my mitts on, mainly because of the cliff hanger we had given at the end of "Entrapment." I never saw it coming and I couldn't wait to see how the whole situation would unfold. What I did know was that Aleatha would not fail me. I knew that however things turned out, whichever turn the story took would be the right one for all those involved. And I was right.
This conclusion to Nox and Alex's story had everything you would want from a final instalment in a series and more. Every question that had cropped up throughout the previous four books was answered. Every twist, every turn and every curveball that was thrown in slotted seamlessly into the storyline and felt right. The added mystery, suspense and "who done it" element only heightened my enjoyment of the book. Nothing felt over the top or exaggerated, after all this was the lifestyle of the rich and famous where anything and everything was a possibility!!! Like I said in my previous reviews for the series, think along the lines of those 80's soaps like "Dallas" and "Dynasty" and you won't be far wrong.
I loved getting all the juicy bits for some of the sub plots and I just adored the glimpses into the pasts of so many of the characters I had grown to know and love over the course of this series. There were those characters for whom my love continued to grow and of course there were those characters for whom my hate was continuously fuelled by their actions and behaviours.
Nox was just the perfect batman. I loved his unconditional love for his princess and how he would walk to the ends of the earth to ensure her safety. Equally I loved Alex and the fact that she wasn't a damsel in distress. She was a fighter and would do everything in her power to protect those she loved.
"Fidelity" is one of those books you definitely need to take your time reading. There was a lot of information given and if you try to rush or skim, the likelihood is you will miss something vital. So yup, savour every page and relish in the storyline as it reaches it's ending.
Welldone Aleatha on such a fantastic series with "Infidelity." I really couldn't recommend it enough. If you want drama and action, mystery and suspense and a storyline that will have you salivating as you turn the pages, this is definitely for you.
