Synopsis:

An all new second chance love story by the New York Times Bestselling author of the Driven series.

It all started with the invitation. To my ex-fiance’s newwedding.

I should have ignored it.Thrown it away. Set it afire. But I didn’t.I replied.

With a plus one.

And then my assistant accidentally mailed it.

Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But I gave him mine years ago. He was my first love. He was my everything. Right until he up and left to chase his dreams without so much as a simple goodbye.

When he showed up out of the blue ten years later, I should have known to steer clear. I should have rejected his offer to take me to my ex’s wedding. I should have never let him kiss me.

But I didn’t.

And now we’re left wondering if the pieces of the life we once shared still fit together somehow. First loves are hard to forget. The question is, do we want to forget? Or do we risk the chance and see what happens next?

Review: Surj

I was first introduced to Kristy Bromberg way back when she hadn't even released the first book in the "Driven Series." I received an email from an unknown author asking if I would take a chance on her debut novel and review it as part of my blog. Of course I jumped at the chance because, well it sounded like a bloomin' good read. Four years later and the series has gone from strength to strength with a huge following of fans who just love Donovan and his crew. But this series couldn't go on forever could it? Surely this author wasn't a one trick pony with no other stories to tell? Or was she? Well, "Sweet Cheeks" was Kristy's first step away from the world that had kept her safe for the last few years. It was a complete detachment from the series we'd all grown to know and love so I guess you could say it was a huge risk. Would her fans love the change in direction she took, only time would tell.

Told me he’d stay forever. And left without ever saying a word.

Well, I finished "Sweet Cheeks" and I loved it. I mean who doesn't love a second chance romance, right? Especially when it's teenage sweethearts who had their whole lives mapped out ahead of them only to be separated by a twist of fate. This had all the formulaic ingredients of a second chance romance. There was a whole heap of angst and heart ache and of course that resistance we always get to taking a chance again. But we got some extra awesomeness with this one. The story was different and definitely had me intrigued as to how things would play out. I mean an invitation to your ex finance's wedding, six months after you call it off? Add into the mix the reappearance of your first love who let your heart in pieces? This could only end in disaster right? Queue the humour and cuteness which gave this story a fantastic edge. Plus the bucket load of sexual tension which really did reach fever pitch. Yup, there right there made this book definitely worth the read.

They think I want her. She thinks I don’t. I know I want her. I know I can’t.

Hayes Whitley was a character that challenged me. I liked him, I loved him, I didn't like him, he was an ass... lol. See, what can I say other than MEN!!! The more I got to know him though, the more I fell for him and honestly, it was difficult not to fall for that charm. Saylor's character was fierce and feisty. She had the guts to call off a wedding she knew wasn't right and bless her heart, tried with all her might to fight off her growing feelings for her first love who had decided to rear his beautiful head. On top of that, she was desperately trying to save her failing business. Luck was not on this girl's side that's for sure.

Saylor and Hayes together were pure magic. The push/ pull between them and the banter was just pure brilliance and definitely made for entertaining reading. Despite everything that had happened between the pair (both past and present), I was still rooting for them to give love a second go. After all, you never forget that first one do you?

There’s only one love that matters more than your first love: Your last love.

All in all, I loved Kristy Bromberg's step away from the "Driven" series and I can't wait to see what else she has up her sleeve. I can see so many other characters in the book needing their story told so let's wait and see who's up next.

He became my first crush. Then later my first love. And later again my first heartbreak.

I rated "Sweet Cheeks" ❤️❤️❤️❤️
