I could never win because I wasn't telling the truth.
Talk about thrills and spills. Talk about my heart feeling bruised and battered. What can I say other than I don't think any of us who have read "Crown of Lies" will have seen this story coming. Pepper, Winters really is full of surprises and I have to hand it to her, she really has gone and done it again, her hard work and dedication to Pen and Elle's story ensuring this conclusion to their duet truly was a masterpiece.
Lies, lies, lies. I wanted to vomit with lies.
I wanted to wash away the lies. I wanted to bleach the lies.
There is so much I absolutely loved about this book. I loved that Pepper didn't give me all of the answers straight away. I was thrilled that she gave me a gripping, edge of my seat story line that kept me occupied and entertained whilst the truths came to light slowly but surely. I adored the direction she took the story line. It was realistic and believable, every bit of it. Any other direction and (in my opinion) it would have felt forced and false. And that delicious, delightful, delectable cherry of the cake for me was getting Penn's POV. Yes ladies, I got to have a good rummage around in that beautiful head of his and what I found made my heart melt. This was a man who (despite being a little misguided with his train of thought) really did have the biggest heart and of course he was soooo sexy with it. And Elle, I loved her strength and her determination to find the truth. She was no pushover that's for sure.
Her apology echoed in my ears. Her tears glistened in memory.
I’d hurt her, but she’d hurt me. And now, I was here, and she was there,
and there was no way to fix what was broken.
"Throne of Truth" was such a gripping ending to this couple's story, it really was. I know my review is brief but I refuse to give anything away. There is too much that could potentially spoil the book for you and give you the answers I know you are all craving. Be patient peeps. This is a story filled with so much goodness, you will need to savor every bit of it.
