Review: Sophie Jackson's "A Measure of Love (A Pound of Flesh #3)."

Synopsis

From award-winning fanfic phenomenon Sophie Jackson, the third novel in the sexy and emotionally intense blockbuster A Pound of Flesh series.

Life in New York for ex-con Riley Moore is pretty damn good, until a call from his mother shatters the calm: his father has suffered his second heart attack in two years and is in a critical condition. Leaving everything behind, Riley flies home to Michigan for the first time in five years to support his mother and do his best to make amends with his father. He also tries not to think about Lexie Pierce, the only girl he ever truly cared about, and who broke his heart.

When they inevitably meet, memories of their love make Riley yearn to reconnect, despite the pain they both suffered. Though she's wary, and has a secret she’s hidden from him for five years, Lexie has little willpower when it comes to Riley and she agrees. Besides, after all that has gone before, she owes it to both of them to find out if they can love each other again.

Can they both overcome their sorrow and secrets and finally share their life together?

A powerful new voice in modern romance, Sophie Jackson has crafted a passionate love story with unforgettable characters that will stay with you long after you’ve turned the last page.

Review: Jo

I have fallen head over heels in love with the story. I think it may just be my favourite of the series, which is a difficult choice to make because I have loved every single book so far. I am sure that I will be gushing about "A Measure of Love" for a long time to come. It was a story that was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes.

Because I had already met Riley in the previous books, I knew that there was an air of mystery about him when it came to his love life. Well, in this story all was revealed. Every part of Riley's tale of first love and broken hearts was uncovered. When I met Lexi and discovered more about the pairs relationship, my heart bled for the pain that they had both endured. Lexi and Riley had been through so much together and it was heartbreaking to see how it had all gone wrong.

I was gripped by Lexi and Riley's story, not wanting to put my kindle down. I loved having a glimpse into Lexi and Riley's childhood. Reading about their friendship and how their love blossomed, opened my eyes to how special Lexi and Riley's relationship was. Now that Lexi and Riley had been given a second chance, I was excited for their future and couldn't wait to see what happened next between the pair. I hoped that things would work out for them because it was obvious that they were truly meant to be together.

Sophie Jackson has written the most heartfelt novel. It was absolute perfection. I was touched by everything that I read. The writing was outstanding and I could not recommend this book enough. If you have not read any of the previous books in this series, this one can be read as a standalone, however I would recommend not missing any of the books out because they are all favourites of mine.

"A Measure of Love" gets a well deserved  ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ from me.
