Synopsis:

#1 New York Times bestselling author S.C. Stephens brings us the next book in her Thoughtless series!

The spotlight doesn't only shine. Sometimes it burns.

Being the bad-boy bassist for the world's hottest band has earned Griffin Hancock some perks: a big house, a fast car, and most importantly his incredible wife, Anna. The one thing it hasn't brought him is the spotlight. Anna tells him to be patient, that his talent will win out. But Griffin is through waiting for permission to shine.

Without warning, Griffin makes a shocking decision and takes the gamble of a lifetime. Suddenly he's caught up in a new level of lights, cameras, and chaos. One that pushes his relationship with Anna to its limits. Anna has always found his unpredictable behavior sexy, but lately he's seen an ache in her eyes--and it has his soul in knots. Just as the recognition Griffin seeks is finally within reach, the thing he loves most in life could be slipping through his fingers...

Review: Surj

Having just finished S.C Stephens "Untamed," I can truthfully say, I am absolutely exhausted, mentally drained. Cream crackered... call it what you want but I feel like I could sleep for a week. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed this 4th instalment in the "Thoughtless" series but Griffin really did give me a run for my money. I would compare reading this book to be locked in a tiny room with a child who has over indulged on E numbers. I didn't know if I was coming or going and there were times I just wanted to bang my head against a brick wall or maybe just do that to Griffin's head... I was happy with either as long as I was put out of my misery. OK so that sounds really bad but let me explain. In the previous books in the series, we'd had small doses of Griffin. He was the funny guy. The one that brought the humour, the light hearted banter and honestly, he had me in stitches with his one liners. However, those books really did only skim the surface of this man's personality and from the minute I turned the first page of his book, I just knew I was in for... an interesting time. What I will say is, buckle up ladies and get ready to board the Griffin Hancock ego  train ... you really are in for one hell of a ride and once he starts going, there really is no stopping him.

"... once again, Kellan is hogging all the glory and I'm being shoved into the background.
He is the talent, my ass. You know babe, between Kellan's
selfishness, Matt's dickheadedness, and Evan's indifference..
I don't know what the fuck I'm still doing with them."

If I could sum up Griffin's character, I would say he was someone with a god-like personality. He was brilliant. Amazing. Super. Perfect at everything he put his hands to, whether that be playing the bass, the guitar, singing lead vocals or even his bedroom skills... ok I'll give him the first one and the last but as for the rest... he really had no idea. He was so completely self absorbed that no one else got a look in. No one could ever be as good as him... it just wasn't possible... and he actually believed that!!! In fact I'd o so far as to say, he really did have very little regard for others and that included his band mates. He was rude. He was selfish. He was cruel and he was the master at cocking up. I take my hat off to S.C Stephens though. We wanted Griffin's book and boy did she give it to us. There was no filter, no sugar coating, no rose tinted glasses. Just Griffin Hancock and his god like personality... and that is no exaggeration. He was irritating, annoying, frustrating and there were so many occasions he made my blood boil. How his wife put up with him I have no idea. Well actually I do because every now and again, he'd go and do something that would make me stop and second guess my feelings about him. He'd say something or someone else would do something that would make my heart hurt for him and that would leave me so conflicted. But Griffin being griffin, it didn't take him long to regain his crown as king of being an asshole.

I wasn't jealous, I was tired. Tired of being chained and restrained.
It was time for the hulk to be free.

"Untamed" really isn't your average romance. In fact I'd say it really isn't a romance at all although that does obviously feature. This book is more about the life and times, the trials and tribulations and the ups and downs of Griffin and his relationship with the band, his wife and daughter, his friends and also his family. It really was quite the eye opener and although for the most part, I wanted to kick Griffin in the nuts for his words and his actions, I couldn't fault the story line. It was 100% Griffin and although not an easy read (in fact painful at times), it was sure as hell entertaining. It kept me on my toes that's for sure and it kept me hooked and engrossed with all the twists and turns. If you're expecting to fall in love with Griffin, it may take you a while. He will push every button, test your limits and really push your boundaries on what is acceptable and not. Did I fall in love with him? No. Did he redeem himself? Absolutely. Would I recommend his story to other readers? Definitely.

I rated "Untamed" ❤️❤️❤️❤️
