Synopsis:

Race car mechanic Andressa “Andi” Amaro has one rule—no dating drivers. With a good reason behind the rule, she has no plans on breaking it.

Carrick Ryan is the bad boy of Formula One. With a face and body that melts panties on sight, and an Irish lilt that leaves women on their knees, begging for more. He races hard and parties harder. The youngest driver to ever sign with F1, he’s still at the top of his game five years later, breaking hearts on and off the tracks.

When Andi is offered her dream job working in the glamorous world of F1, she leaves her home in Brazil, positive she can handle working for Carrick. But she’s not prepared for the off-the-chart sparks that fly the moment they meet.

Now, Andi has a crush on the one man she can’t have, and her resolve is about to be put to the test, because Carrick has decided he wants Andi, and he plans on testing her to the very limit…

Review: Surj

Samantha Towle really knows how to give us a book that's full to the brim with feels and makes us throw caution to the wind when it comes to falling in love with the bad boys our mothers warned us about, and "Revved" my dear readers was no exception. This was a fun, flirty and very dirty read with the perfect balance of angst and heart break to throw my emotions into the mother of all tail spins. One minute I'd be grinning like a cheshire cat, the next, I'd feel a twist in my gut and my happiness would come crashing down around me, leaving me gutted. What can I say, other than another job well done by this author for having a good play around with my nerves!!! lol

Even though I really shouldn't be doing this because no good could ever come of it,
I can't seem to find the will to stop.

"Revved" centred around the world of Formula one racing with the beginning of Andi and Carrick's story really setting the scene and helping the reader understand this way of life,. Because that's what it was for every single person who worked in this sport... a way of life. I was also introduced to the characters that would all play parts in how this story would unravel and I was given a small glimpse into the backgrounds of the two main characters, the prologue particularly hard hitting when it came to explaining Andi's decision not to date drivers (as hot as they may be 😉). However, from the minute Andi and Carrick met, I wanted them together. Their banter was brilliant and with Carrick's Irish charm versus Andi's feistiness, they really were a match made in book heaven. She liked him (although she would fight it every step of the way) and he liked her (and yes he would pursue her every step of the way) and the rest as they say is history. Okay so that's a big fat lie because Andi and Carrick's bond was anything but straight forward, with fear, jealousy, bad decisions, desire and lust all leading to an explosive story line. Be prepared to feel angry, frustrated, sad and even devastated because Samantha Towle really has chosen to put her readers through the ringer with this one. Nothing was simple and straight forward and with every glimmer of hope, I knew the feeling of despair was right around the corner waiting to pounce.

He's in the press more for his late night antics and bedroom play that he is
for his driving abilities. He acts more like a rock star that a Formula One driver.

Carrick Ryan stole my heart right from the word go. With his cheeky way with words and a side order of cute cockiness, I was a gonna even before I realised it. Even with his play boy ways, I couldn't help but fly his flag right the way through this book. Yes he loved the ladies and yes, he no apologies for his behaviour, (more often than not), landing himself knee deep in trouble and of course earning himself a reputation as the bad boy of Formula One. But I saw another side to Carrick. This man had a heart... a blooming' big one at that and I loved that side of his character. On top of that, he wore his emotions on his sleeve, never afraid to go for what he wanted or say how he was feeling and that was such a big plus. Over the course of the book, I found myself becoming increasingly protective of him, especially when things didn't go in his favour, so much so that I found myself turning on characters who I felt were doing him wrong!!! I couldn't help it.

"What are you doing?" my voice trembles.

"Taking what I want... what's mine."

Andi's character left me torn. In one breath, I saw a real strength to her character, especially since she was working in a male dominant environment and not everyone was as welcoming to her arrival as she had hoped. But it took guts to carry on, knowing full well she had more to prove than most. On top of that, she had fears, which I completely understood. However, there was a side to Andi that really ruffled my feathers. I can't say any more than that without spoiling the plot for you but let's just say, you know that saying about cake and eating it, well that absolutely applied in this case (well in my eyes anyway). There were times she riled me and made me so mad, I could have happily chucked my kindle at the wall!!! Grrrr.

"I can't get you out of my head. And you know what the worst thing is?
Is that you don't even want to be in here."

I loved the fact that Samantha Towle used British dialect in "Revved" and I absolutely got the humour that came with it. Her writing remained engaging and flawless as ever with a story line that forced me to lock myself away and pull an all dayer... yes I read this book in one sitting. Trust me, you will want to get to the end of Andi and Carrick's story just to see if they get a HEA because the way this story went, I wasn't so sure that would happen. As well as a captivating story line and a "to die for male lead," some of the secondary characters were fab too and I'm really hoping they get their own books because their stories left me intrigued.

This was another brilliant addition to the works by this author and hand on heart, you won't be disappointed if you pick it up... so go and pick it up. I rated it ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Excerpt:

“Come on…just one piece of bacon.”

“No.” I move my plate toward me, and away from him.

“Aww, come on, baby. You know you wanna give me some.”

Baby?

I feel that word wash through me like an erotic cleansing.

Pressing my thighs and lips together, I shake my head. “Nope. Your smooth Irish charm won’t work on me.”

Grinning, he gives me a look straight from the sex devil. “Aww, Andressa. Baby. If you give me some…I’ll make it worth your while. It can be our little secret. I won’t tell anyone, I promise.”

“How do you manage to make a conversation about bacon sound dirty?”

“I’d say it’s a talent…but maybe it’s not me that’s dirty and it’s you. After all, you are the one interpreting it that way.”
