Release Blitz & Review & Giveaway: M. Pierce's "After Dark (The Night Owl Trilogy)."

The Hopeless Romantics Book Blog are pleased to be a part of the Release Blitz for M. Pierce's "After Dark (The Night Owl Trilogy)."

Synopsis:

In the final novel of the Night Owl Trilogy from bestselling author M. Pierce, can a passion that has withstood many ordeals become a love strong enough to last a lifetime?

At twenty-nine, Matt Sky is trying to return to normal, having faked his death and come back to life. He and Hannah move to a simple house in the suburbs, and strive to grow their relationship into something durable and honest. They become more and more entangled, in the best ways possible.

At twenty-eight, Hannah finally has the life she's always wanted: she's pursuing her career as a literary agent at Granite Wing Agency, she is writing her first solo novel, and she is living with her hot, passionate lover. For the first time, Matt and Hannah are able to explore intimacy without inhibitions—without lies, secrets, or jealousy—and the results are explosive.

Still life together is not as easy as it seems. Matt is estranged from his brothers in the wake of his cruel stunt; Seth Sky, embittered by his failed pursuit of Hannah, makes a play for Hannah's sister; and the topic of Hannah's novel—her relationship with Matt and the Sky family—is driving a wedge between her and Matt. The lovers are devoted to one another, having come through many ordeals, but is their bond strong enough to last a lifetime?

Review-Jo Rushton

Wow! What a crazy ride this series has been and I have loved every single minute of it. This final book of the series was all about Hannah and Matt working hard to achieve their happy ever after. They were both focused on one thing and that was to make their relationship work but for the majority of the story, this wasn't easy. Lets face it, I knew it wouldn't be. However, once I had reached the last page and had closed my kindle I gave out a long, contended sigh! I was so happy with how things had worked out for this unique couple. M. Pierce has delivered a brilliant conclusion to what has been a fantastic series.

"Broken Matt. Sweet Matt. Vulnerable Matt. I loved all of it, the good and the bad."

Going into this story, I wasn't surprised to find that Matt was still as psychotic as ever. Throughout this series, Matt Sky has kept me in a constant state of confusion and concern. I have always wondered about this man and how things would turn out for him. He must be one of the most complex characters in the book world. However, I feel that that this book has given me the opportunity to get to know more about Matt Sky. I found that the chapters told from his POV were honest and open and I thought he had begun to understand himself a little more. He knew how he truly felt about Hannah and he knew what he wanted from their relationship. The only problem was that Matt chose to keep some of his feelings and desires to himself. This was the main reason that things became complicated between Matt and Hannah. Matt continued to love Hannah with a fierce passion however if he didn't communicate with her I wondered if their relationship would survive.

Matt was right; in some ways, I didn't know him. But I wanted to know him-his habits,
his likes and dislikes. I wanted to know all of him.

It wasn't just Matt causing trouble this time around. Unfortunately Hannah too was causing her own fair share of arguments too. During this series, Hannah has faced many problems with Matt and had overcome them all. Because of these experiences she'd grown into a much stronger and more confident women, able to hold her own when it came to arguments with Matt (It made me laugh at how many times Matt was forced to sleep on the couch!). Hannah was also more confident to explore her sexual side. Where previously she had been the more submissive one in the relationship, in this book, I saw her beginning to take control a little more and explore her kinky desires with Matt. As usual this couple were as hot as ever. If there was one thing that continued to remain strong it was their sexual attraction to each other. They were on fire!! Now if they could just tackle the communication problems things would be perfect.

I could no longer tell where Matt's desires ended and mine began,
or what I wanted and what I just wanted to give him.

I thoroughly enjoyed this final chapter in Hannah and Matt's journey. It had just the right amount of drama, romance and sexiness. Just like the previous books in the series, this one kept me hooked. Not once did I lose interest or become bored. I was also really impressed with how the series came to an end. The epilogue was one that stayed true to Hannah and Matt. It was a perfect conclusion to their story. I have loved this series from start to finish and I am already looking forward to seeing what M. Pierce will bring us in the future. Whatever it is, I will definitely be reading it!

"We're getting close to the end"
"Are we?"
"It has to end somewhere. Why not here?"
"Ah. You want a happy ending?"
"I do. You want a sad one?"
"I don't want any ending."

"After Dark" is a must for all Night Owl fans and gets ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️  from me!

Excerpt:

Sleeping on the couch is a bitch.

My back ached even after my morning run, even after a round of sit-ups and stretches—and a long, hot, lonely shower.

As I padded past the bedroom, a towel around my waist, I tried the knob once more.

Still locked.

I pressed my ear to the door and frowned.

Hannah had been bunkered in our bedroom all night and most of this morning. It was nearly noon. The AC ticked on and I sighed, roaming back to the kitchen.

“I am definitely in the doghouse,” I muttered to Laurence.

A notepad on the counter contained my list for the day.

FIX SHIT

- Talk about things w/Hannah (money, therapy, Chrissy)

- Date (picnic or dinner)

I peeled off the note and wrote another.

Hannah baby, please come out. You can’t stay in there forever. I’m sorry. I love you. I need clothes. XO

I knocked gently on the bedroom door before slipping the note beneath it. Then I retreated to the TV room.

Several minutes later, I heard the door squeak open and clap shut.

I returned to find it locked, a pair of my socks folded on the floor beside a note.

Here you go.

Grinning, I turned over her note and wrote another.

Where am I supposed to wear these? Or am I supposed to use them for something else? Take pity on a half-naked man. It’s getting chilly out here.

I flicked my reply under the door, then sat on the floor and waited. Soon I heard Hannah rustling in the bedroom. The door opened a crack and a T-shirt flew out.

She slammed it shut quickly.

Click went the lock.

“Goddamn it, Hannah.”

I pulled on the T-shirt and shot another note under the door.

Is this your way of saying you want to see my dick? So coy . . .

A moment later, the door opened and a pair of sweatpants hit me in the face.

Slam!—click.

“Hannah!” I lunged against the door. “Baby bird?”

No reply.

God, women are fucking mysterious.
