She is no longer free.

Jethro Hawk receives Nila as an inheritance present on his twenty-ninth birthday. Her life is his until she’s paid off a debt that’s centuries old. He can do what he likes with her—nothing is out of bounds—she has to obey.

There are no rules. Only payments.

A modern day Dark Erotic Romance

Blog Tour Review: Surj Harvey

No no no no no.... It's finished!!!! I turned the page and there was no more!!! That can't be right? How could she do that to me??? F******k!!!! I'm speechless. I'm a mess!!! My nerves are shot!!! My hands are shaking!!!! I need  a minute.... I need ten... actually I need a stiff drink... whiskey (neat) to try and even begin to process what I just read. Wow, "Debt Inheritance" was mind fuckingly amazing and if you thought you'd seen the best Pepper Winters had to offer, think again. This book took what my reading limits to a whole new level. It was dark, twisted (as is this author's trademark writing style) but it was so much more than that. I can't even begin to describe it... this is one story you need to experience yourself but be prepared to be challenged. Be prepared to feel uncomfortable but mostly, be prepared to be scared out of your ever loving mind. Ain't no big girl panties available that can save you from this one!!!!

THE WORLD WAS a dangerous place, but I was worse.

If you're looking for a love story, you won't find one here. If you're looking for a villain who shows humanity and compassion, you've definitely got the wrong book. Holy crap, Jethro Hawk had me quaking in my boots, I loathed him. I feared him. This man was dangerous. He was evil, a monster of the worst kind. A wolf in sheep's clothing. The devil in disguise. I scoured the pages, looking for something that would redeem him, that would make me soften towards him but nothing... there was absolutely nothing. He ain't a Q Mercer with a hidden agenda if that's what you were hoping for. Nope. This one's in a league of his own!!!

And everyone knows you don't give a pet to a killer.

And Nila... she truly was a lamb to the slaughter... offered up for sacrifice by the man who had sheltered her from harm her whole life. The man she trusted with everything she was. The man who should have protected her but instead threw her to the wolves!!! WTF!!! How could he? I was gutted for her because she had no idea what she was walking into and she knew nothing of the horrors that lay ahead.

I often felt like a kitten bought up by two tigers.
Never permitted my own claws to form or teeth to sharpen.

Trust me, she'd have run for life had she got even an inkling. By the time I'd figured it out, my stomach was in knots. I felt sick. My heart hammered in my chest . My hands were sweating and I was a complete and utter nervous wreck. Nila would never survive it, Jesus Christ, I'd never survive it!!! I should have had more faith though because this little kitten had a fighting spirit that was second to none. She thought it would keep her alive... instead it had the potential to destroy her.

I never looked back. I should've looked back. I should never have placed my hand into
that of a monster's. That was the last day of freedom. The last day that was my own.

"Debt Inheritance" made me feel, made me think and and definitely made me question. There were so many things that just didn't add up, that threw me for six, that left me confused and uncomfortable but in the best possible way. I trust Pepper Winters story telling abilities implicitly and I know that if it's in this book, then it's in it for a reason. I may not have the answers just yet but they will come and when they do, no doubt they will add a whole new dimension to what is already looking to be an amazing series.

This author has yet again pushed the boundaries when it comes to dark reads. Where she comes up with these story lines I have no idea but what I do know is that each of her books has been unique, her characters so different to what we are used to seeing and it's her haunting, captivating writing style that keeps me coming back for more. I can't wait to see the direction she takes this series in but one is certain... things will get a whole lot worse before they even begin to get better. Bring it on Mrs Winters!!! BRING. IT. ON!!!!

"Welcome to the family. Don't know how much you've been told about us but forget everything."
His teeth glinted in the pooling light from the mansion. "We're much worse."

I rated "Debt Inheritance" 5 Hearts... thank you kindly Jethro Hawk for well and truly f**king with me!!

Excerpt: Debt Inheritance: Meet Jethro & Nina

Nina's POV

“Huge disappointment, Ms. Weaver.” His cold glare sent a snowstorm wiping away the bonfire in my belly. “I’m done playing games, so cut the bullshit. Time to begin the day.” His voice gave no room for interpretation. A cold draft shot down my back.

My brief reprieve from debts and horrible Hawks was over. I’d been shown something I desperately wanted, but denied it because I failed to please him.

“You could teach me…show me how…” I couldn’t make eye contact with him. Mortification painted my cheeks for both admitting I was clueless and asking a monster to coach me.

Jethro laughed. “You think that will save you from what’s coming? Was that your little plan? To make me fuck you in the hopes I might feel something for you?”

Jethro's POV

I stood up slowly, clicking my tongue. “Ah, ah, ah, Ms. Weaver. Don’t take that tone with me. You’re the failure. You’re the prisoner. You take what I give you. You do not assume to have any say or authority. That includes listening to everything I deem important to tell you.” Ghosting to a stop in front of her, I murmured, “Is that quite understood?”

I flexed my muscles, welcoming back the soothing chillness of control. I hadn’t liked stepping outside my confines of civility. Things got messy when silence was disrupted. Things got rushed when tempers rose and curses flowed.

And I didn’t want to rush her undoing. I wanted to savour it. Devour it.
