Synopsis:

Never ask about the past.   Don’t expect a future.

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her. They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly

Blog Tour Review:

It's intense. It's heart breaking. It's devastating. It's ugly.

Colleen Hoover has exceeded all expectations yet again with her latest novel "Ugly Love." This book was just brilliant and as much as certain elements of the story line may have appeared predictable,  it was the execution of Miles and Tate's story that ensured that this was absolutely not the case. This authors unique story telling abilities, the twists and turns that left me speechless and the mystery and suspense that kept me guessing ensured that this book was a cut above the rest. I don't know how Colleen does it but it took no effort whatsoever to get lost amongst the pages. This was an engaging, captivating, heart breaking and eventually just a beautiful read (yes take note of the word eventually!!!) and I tuned out the world whilst I devoured every word.

The difference between the ugly side and the beautiful side of love is that the beautiful side
is much lighter. It makes you feel like you're floating. It lifts you up. Carries you. The beautiful
parts of love hold you above the rest of the world. They hold you so high above all the bad stuff,
and you just look down on everything else and think, Wow. I'm glad I'm up here.

"Ugly Love" pulled so many mixed emotions, so many conflicting feelings from me and I think that's because the characters were just so realistic, their thought processes, their responses to situations and their internal struggles just so relatable and so believable. We don't always make the right decisions or take the road that is the easiest when it comes to relationships and love but lessons are always learnt along the way and this book was a true testament to that. I laughed, my heart broke and yes, I cried.. big, sobbing, ugly tears!!! Have your tissues at the ready folks, you've been warned!

"You make it so hard to breathe."

Miles and Tate was fantastic characters who I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know and love, chapters told from each of their POV really helping to cement those affections. In Miles, we got chapters from the past and with Tate we got the present, each providing the reader with a different story, each with a different tone, each of them giving us further insight to the characters, each of them giving me a sinking feeling, an overwhelming sense of dread that all would not end well in either situation and so I read with a heavy heart. I couldn't put my finger on what it was but I knew I was missing the mother of all pieces to this puzzle and trust me, the guessing game was killing me, the temptation to cheat and go in search of answers so strong but I behaved and instead read like my life depended on it, waiting for the characters to share their story with me in their own time.

"Don't ask about my past," he says firmly. "And never expect a future."

Colleen Hoover is a master in her art and for those of you who have ever watched her video's or read her blog posts, you'll know what a wicked but very dry sense of humour she has. This filtered through in the writing in "Ugly Love," the light hearted moments most definitely appreciated. But it was the way this story was delivered that stole my breath away. Miles and Tate captured my heart, Colleen's style of writing ensured I was 100% invested in their story and the emotions that oozed off the pages ensured it was a near on impossibility not to connect with both the story line or the characters. I felt every ounce of happiness and sorrow, hope, despair and even disappointment they went through. Even the changes in the formatting of the pages brought a whole new dimension to the story.... yes the formatting!!! Crazy right? But it worked so freakin' well.

"God gave us ugliness so that we don't take the beautiful things for granted."

I know this review seems a little vague but "Ugly Love" is a story you really want to go into blind and so I'm going to finish my review here as I already feel like I'm rambling like a mad woman. Take home message: YOU NEED THIS BOOK IN YOUR LIFE!!!

I rated "Ugly Love" 5 Hearts
