Synopsis:

Curvy girl, Charlene Winters, had it all: the great career, wonderful friends and a dreamy fiancé. With her wedding day just three weeks away, Charlene is dealt a devastating blow. Suddenly finding her life, hopes and plans in tatters, the jilted bride sinks into despair and a tub of Ben and Jerry’s cookie dough. With the heartache of her fiancé’s infidelity still fresh, Charlene’s whisked away by her friends on a life-changing holiday. But how will this big fish cope now that she’s back in the dating pond and surrounded by slender trouts with Botox lips?

Frustrated by best friend Adam thwarting her attempts at romance, and her girls Vanessa and Dana eager to set her up with a boy toy, Charlene decides the time for change is upon her. What she needs is a change of scenery, a change of dress size and maybe, a change of heart.

Blog Tour Review: Jo Rushton:

This story was brilliant, hilariously funny and  very heart warming. Most definitely a perfect girly read that I'm sure you'll just love.

"Diary of A Dieter" followed the story of Charlene who was jilted by her fiancé just weeks before her wedding day. She was left completely  heartbroken and chose to seek comfort in a  tub of Ben and Jerry's, chocolate biscuits and a can of whipped cream. That is until her close friends came to the rescue demanding she stop wallowing in self pity. Thank god for friends right?

Charlene did pulled herself together with the support of her amazing friends and began a new journey: a quest to find her "Prince" charming.  This  journey had me in stitches. The situations that Charlene found herself in were just hilarious. I mean laugh out loud hilarious and I don't think I laughed so much whilst reading since I read "Bridget Jones Diary".

Throughout the story, sitting on the side lines was Adam, Charlene's best friend of 20 years and he was delicious. He was so lovely to her, supporting her through all of her ups and downs and constantly boosting her self esteem:

"...My whole life is a joke. Look at me."
"I am looking at you . I'm always looking at you, and do you know what I see?
I see a fun, gorgeous, sexy and incredibly amazing woman."

Adam made my heart melt. It was so obvious that he had hidden feeling for Charlene but sadly Charlene only saw him as her best friend. I was so gutted for him.

The characters were fabulously written and I have to mention Charlene's Grandmother who was extremely funny. Her comments throughout the story cracked me up!

" You really are as blind as a beggar. There is a perfectly good specimen of a man hanging
around you like a puppy and there's you acting like a bitch in heat and ignoring the dog
that's been dry humping your leg for years. And they say I'm senile."

I won't say anymore because I don't want to spoil the story for you. You'll need to read the story for yourself to see if Charlene ever finds her "Prince"  and gets her HEA. "Diary of a Dieter" is a book I would whole heartedly recommend. I could easily see this book making a brilliant film. I'd love to see Charlene's escapade's on the big screen.

Diary of a Dieter was a book full of fun that left me with a big cheesy grin and a warm fuzzy feeling. Of course I have to give this 5 big hearts. Thank you Marie Coulson for making me laugh my socks off!

About the Author:

Born and bred in Essex, England, Marie Coulson discovered her love of writing in her early teens. Beginning with poetry and song lyrics, she tried her hand at creative writing while studying for her English GCSE. It was love at first line. Unfortunately, Marie's career as a childcare and education practitioner soon took up most of her time and writing became something she only dreamed about. In the summer of 2012 she quit her job and enrolled at university, ready to start a new career as a therapist. This left her with a lot of time on her hands and on August the 20th she sat down and wrote the first chapter of Bound Together. Bound Together was a story that had been waiting three years to be written and when fingers hit the keyboard...Layla, Jared and Ollie's story was born. Marie has since written and released two novels in the Bound Together series and a novella. Her romantic comedy novel Diary Of A Dieter has also received excellent reviews and is the debut novel in the Confessions series.
