Synopsis:

After her former boyfriend left her pregnant and alone, Megan McKenzie swore off men. She spent the last eighteen months focused solely on her son, Mason, along with finishing nursing school at the top of her class. Although she’s not ready to complicate her life with a long-term relationship, a nice no-strings attached hook-up is just what she needs. At her godson, Noah’s, baptism, she finds the perfect candidate in the soft-spoken godfather, Pesh Nadeen. After all, the widower could use a good time too. But after drinking too much, the night doesn’t end the way she thought it would. Forced to leave Pesh’s house through a walk of shame, Megan hopes to never, ever see him again.

For Pesh Nadeen, the very sight of Megan sends him into an emotional tailspin. Since she reminds him too much of what he has lost, he wants to be out of her sight…at first. But the more he gets to know her, there's something about the diminutive blonde that causes his protective side to go into overdrive, and he finds himself wanting more. When Megan is assigned to work in his ER to complete her nursing clinicals, he sees it as fate, but she’s having no part of it. She only wants a physical relationship while he wants far more.

What happens next is a sexy game of cat and mouse to see who will break first or if both of them will eventually get more than they ever bargained for.

My Review: Jo Rushton

I just loved this story. It was sexy, sweet and romantic. If like me, you loved "The Proposition" and "The Proposal" then this book is a MUST! I loved everything about it.

The Pairing follows the story of Megan and Pesh. We met both of these characters in the previous books. If you need reminding, Pesh is the widowed hot Doctor that once took Emma out on a date and Megan is Aiden's niece.

Megan was a beautiful, hardworking single Mum who had nothing but bad luck when it came to men. She never let this get her down though and was determined to make a good life for herself and her Son "Mason". I really admired Megan and found her character really likable.

Pesh was simply gorgeous, nicknamed "Doctor McDreamy Bollywood", he was the perfect package: extremely sexy, caring, compassionate and very romantic. I fell in love with Pesh right from the start. and  would  happily  have him as my Doctor any day!!

When Megan and Pesh first met, they were instantly attracted to each other but things didn't quite go to plan. Both wanted different things when it came to a relationship with  Megan just wanting a fling but Pesh, the romantic guy that he is, wanting much more. Personally, I think Megan was crazy to say no to him Had he been a doctor at my local hospital,I can only imagine women queuing around the block to see him.

"While you may only want sex from me, I want more from you. I want your time,
but I also want you to understand that you're worthy of something special.
And if it takes planes and fancy meals to prove it to you, then I'm going to do it."

Yes ladies, Pesh will make you swoon, he sure made me!!

So the story continued with Pesh determined to make things happen between himself and Megan.

"If I take you, I'll be making love to you. I'll have you begging and pleading, but you'll
be coming so many times you'll lose count. You'll understand the difference between a quick
tumble and the all-consuming power of a physical connection fueled by an emotional one."

Pesh was relentless but would Megan give in to the chemistry that sizzled between them?

I won't say anymore about the story, you will have to read it to find out what happens between these two, but I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Katie Ashley has truly delivered in this book. I was hooked from start to finish. Although you can read this book as a stand alone story I would recommend reading "The Proposition" and "The Proposal" first otherwise you'll miss out on the beginning of Aiden and Emma's journey. I loved that I got the chance to catch up with one of my favourite book couple's and got to see their continuing story. They are featured throughout the book but at the same time it didn't take anything away from Pesh and Megan's story.

I loved the epilogue. It was beautifully written and gave the series an ending that left a huge smile on my face and a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart.

"All I ever wanted was for my children to have a father who loved and adored them.

You make that dream come true every day."

I rate "The Pairing" 4.5 McDreamy hearts.

Excerpt:

“Aidan,” she said in a strained voice. Megan couldn’t help noticing how Emma had paled considerably since her trip to the bathroom just a few minutes before.
He held up his finger. “One second, babe. I gotta finish telling Pesh this story.”
“But my water broke.”
Without taking his eyes off Pesh, Aidan slid his glass of water over to her. “Here take mine.”
If the situation hadn’t been dire, Megan would have laughed at how oblivious Aidan was. Pesh leaned forward in his seat. “Um, Aidan, I think—”
He didn’t get a chance to finish. Instead, water splashed against the side of Aidan’s face. He shot out of his chair before whirling around to Emma. “What the hell, Em?”
“My. Water. Broke,” she muttered through gritted teeth.
“Oh shit,” he replied.
