Synopsis:

From USA Today bestselling author Lisa Desrochers, comes the third book in her sizzling New Adult series.

If you play with fire…

Tossed out of college and cut off by her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen’s club, who is she to turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny’s: No touching, keep your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet. Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every single one of them.

Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but he’s got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming.
Because Harrison Yates isn’t who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.

Review: Kirsty Lander

I didn't think I could love another book in this series as much as I did the first one, A Little Too Far, but it turns out, I was wrong! I absolutely loved A Little Too Hot just as much, and maybe even a little more.

To be honest, I had completely forgotten who Samantha was when I was going in to this book. I know she was mentioned in the first book, I just couldn't for the life of me remember where she was placed in the story. Luckily, it didn't even matter. I'd say you could easily read all of these books as a standalone, particularly this one, because although there are a few consistencies, they are largely based on their own story. This one didn't disappoint at all.

Samantha West hasn't had the best run of luck, so when she finds herself working as an exotic dancer and catching the eye of someone very special in the audience, she thinks her luck is about to change.. and it does.. just for the worse. The guy, Harrison, from the audience soon turns out to be a nightmare for Sam, and someone who she can't wait to get away from, despite their intense attraction. That is really all I can say about how Sam and Harrison meet, I was completely shocked by the whole thing so I don't want to spoil that for anyone else.

"What I ‘want’ is to never have met you. What I ‘want’ is my job and my life
and my friend back. What I ‘want’ is for you to die a slow, painful death a
thousand times over. But I guess I’ll have to settle for never seeing you again."

What I can say about Sam and Harrison though, is that they made a BRILLIANT couple to read about. The sexual tension between the two of them was ridiculous, their attraction was undeniable, but neither of them would take it very far for a LONG time. I loved that! I'm so used to reading these books about insta-love and they are just so boring, but this one, there was none of us. The build up was so exciting to read about, so that by the time the two of them do eventually get to together, we appreciate it even more and it feels all the more real.

"I've never been on fire like this for any other woman."
"You're on fire for me?"
"Burning alive."

Once again, Lisa Desrochers writing is pretty much flawless. I enjoy the way she tells a story - she gets me interested right in the beginning and holds my interest throughout the whole book. This has been the case for all 3 books in this series and I imagine it will be for nay other work I read by her. Her stories aren't boring or predictable, they always keep me guessing and wondering what is around the corner. I just love the twists and turns she throws in.

I'm not sure if there is any more to this series, but by the looks if it this could be the end, and if so, I'll be honest, it makes me a little sad. I've really enjoyed all three books!

I rated "A Little Too Hot" 4.5 Hearts.

Author Bio:

Lisa Desrochers lives in northern California with her husband, two very busy daughters, and Shini the tarantula. If you'd told her five years ago she'd write a book, she'd have laughed in your face. As it turns out, she'd owe you an apology. Writing has become an addiction for Lisa and A Little Too Far, courtesy of HarperCollins, is her first novel for adults. She is also the author of the young adult Personal Demons trilogy from Macmillan. When she's not writing, she's reading, and she adores stories that take her to new places, and then take her by surprise.
