~4.5 Hearts Review ~

Jackson is always considered the 'softie'. He's the first to help people out when they're in need. He's President of the Hell's Knights and he figures it's about time he shows the world how much of a sinner he can be.

Serenity has a dark past. Secrets haunt her and she has no way of escaping them. Hogan is the only family she knows and life with him is brutal. And it's about to get worse.

He sends her on a mission.
On a mission to destroy the Hell's Knights and the Heaven's Sinners.

Can she pretend with a club she doesn't know?

Or will she betray Hogan for the man she's falling in love with?

Blog Tour Review: Surj Harvey

Now this was a book I really wanted to get my hands on, mainly because of the way "heavens Sinners" had ended. There was just something about Serenity that just didn't sit well with me and I just had to know what her game was:

"Blinding pain as a fist hits the side of my face, twisting my head into the nearest wall.
I don't cry out. I've learned not to. It only makes him angrier."

Well with an opening like this, how could I not want to read on. It was brutal, it was harrowing and it was graphic and all I kept thinking was:  "Did I get this girl so completely wrong?" Uhhhh yeah!!!

Serenity's character was so different to how I thought she'd be. I honestly thought I was getting a conniving bitch out for revenge but I hold my hands up because I made one massive error in judgement. Serenity had a heart, she had a conscience and she was riddled with guilt for everything she was doing:
"You're pretty." I shake my head. "No, no I'm not." I'm ugly.
That's what I've been told my entire life.
I'm timid naturally, though I have a lot to say if someone pisses me off.

My heart truly went out to her because she was in an impossible situation. She'd spent her whole life being belittled, berated and made to feel completely worthless. So you can imagine her surprise when all of a sudden there was a whole MC who thought she was worth fighting for.

Although Serenity may have come across as fragile and vulnerable (her physical appearance only reinforcing that), this girl had fire in her belly when it came to things that mattered:

I'm timid naturally, though I have a lot to say when someone pisses me off.

And holy crap did she let rip when her secret was finally revealed and she was faced with the repercussions of her actions. This girl was not going down without a fight and she let them all know exactly what she thought.

And Jackson.... Now this was a man who was sweet... Oh no, not sickly sweet makes you want to vomit out of kindness sweet... Hell no. This man was sexy sweet with all the other qualities we just love in our heroes. And the minute he opened his mouth and called Serenity "darlin" I was gone, this man had me wrapped around his little finger and I wasn't going anywhere. But when Jackson was crossed, when he was lied to, that's when I saw another side to him:

There are many looks that can break a person's heart,
but seeing betrayal on the face of those you love, is heart wrenching.

He was cruel, ruthless and made rash decisions based on the hurt he was feeling. To hell with the consequences and to hell with reason. This man had a stubborn streak and come hell or high water, he would stick to his guns!!!  It was times like these he drove me crazy with frustration.

In terms of their relationship, I'm so glad it wasn't an instant attraction. In fact, even when the connection came, Jackson's conscience got the better of him:

"Three things," he growls. "One, you're too fuckin' young for me. Two, because of that,
don't ever kiss me again and three, fuck darlin, you kiss like a fuckin' angel."

With Jackson fighting his feelings, I knew I'd have to wait for this relationship to progress. Don't get me wrong, I loved the way they tip toe'd around each other and I loved the way Bella Jewel built on the anticipation. When it did finally happen, I was soooo not disappointed. The sex was definitely hot but I loved that Jackson remained a true gentleman throughout. Even when they experimented with the physical side of their relationship, he didn't turn it into something sordid or dirty. Instead he made her feel safe and secure and allowed her to live out her fantasies!!!! Oh and I loved his tribal tattoo... Guess where he had it done? What is it with these guys and their nether regions!!! Not that I'm complaining. LOL.

I have to say, "Knight's Sinner" has to be my favourite of all three books in the series. The story was just brilliant and in true Bella Jewel style, she let the plot build and build and then BAM, we got  with an action packed ending that had my heart thumping in my chest. The epilogue gave me such a wonderful conclusion to all three books but I really am going to miss the crazy world of the MC Sinners and the bad boys I've grown to love.

This book contained the right balance of drama, action, angst and even humour (when she caught him in the bathroom it was hilarious!!!) and the story and character development was just near on perfect. I've really seen Bella's writing develop over the course of this series and this is one writer I can't wait to get more from. Roll on December because we get a pirate for a hero in "Enslaved by the Ocean" and we also get Muff's novella (now that is a book I can't wait to read!!!!)

"Baby," he murmurs, gripping and hurling me up to his chest. He wraps his arms around me,
and nestles his face into my hair. "You're the reason I fuckin' breathe."

I rated "Knight's Sinner" 4.5 Hearts.

“You want the truth?” I rasp, arching up as his fingers slide down my belly.
“Right now, in this moment…I want you to fuck me.”
He lifts his head and raises his brows. “Fuck you?”
“Fuck me. Dirty. Raw. Primal. I want you to fuck me.”
“Jesus,” he growls.
“Now, Jackson.”
“Bossy pixie,” he grins, leaning down and finding my hard nipple again.
“Back to begging, you know I like that.”
I mewl, and grip his jeans, tugging at them.
“Hey,” he says, gripping my hands and moving them. “You want fucking, I’ll fuck you darlin’. I’ll fuck you so hard you will forget how to breathe, but we do it my way. You want it raw, I’ll give it to you raw. You want it primal, that’s how it comes. Fucking ain’t slow and passionate. It’s hard and sweaty. So, if you’re sure, I’m goin’ to fuck you right about now.”
I bite my lip, and nod. He grins, and drops his head, capturing my lips again and kissing me so hard it takes my breath away. His tongue is hard, sexy and forceful. His body is flush against mine, and I can feel every, hard bit of him. He kisses me until we’re in a frenzy, just the way fucking should be. He kisses me until I’m clinging to him, tugging at his jeans. He kisses me until my shirt is in shreds on the floor, and he’s spreading my legs, both of us desperate and panting.
I forget where I am. I forget who I am.
