Oh I really do love these two. ♥
Back in Fixed on You I fell for not only the characters and their flaws, but the actual writing. It's hard to believe that Laurelin Paige has no other books up here on GR, how are these the only books she has written? Her stories are so addicting, with such flawed characters, and not just your usual flaws. They are unusual and not so typical with what we are used to. It makes for a very different and interesting read.

Alyana and Hudson are still struggling to deal with their past demons - Alayna with her stalking, and Hudson with his manipulation. On top of dealing with the past, they are trying to move forward in to a 'normal' healthy relationship. I loved watching their relationship grow from strength to strength, witnessing them both dealing with all the 'newness' of it was refreshing. They weren't perfect, they didn't think they had all the answers.. they knew they would mess things up at times, they know certain decisions they were making were wrong, yet they continued to do so.
“Okay, I’d never be a normal girl and Hudson would never be a normal guy,
but perhaps we’d found the closest thing to normal that we’d ever be capable of achieving.
And it was pretty damn good.”
All of the old players are back in this instalment, Celia in particular playing a big role. I didn't like her in Fixed on You, I couldn't put my finger on what it was exactly but there was something about her that just rubbed me the wrong way. I felt like she had an agenda, and this feeling carried on through the majority of this book. I knew she was up to something, I just didn't know what so when I found out to say I was shocked would be an understatement. I never saw it coming.
I don't know where the story is going to go in the third book, but I am positive that Laurelin Paige won't take it anywhere unnecessary. I am never sat here rolling my eyes whilst reading, all of the situations these characters find themselves in are believable and have a purpose. None of it is thrown in just for the sake of angst, and that I really appreciate.
