Synopsis:

For the five sexy rock gods of Sole Regret, finding love is easy, keeping it is hard.

Melanie has no desire to meet the members of the rock band, Sole Regret, but her groupie of a best friend gets them both backstage and then rushes off with the band’s lead singer. Left alone at an after party with a bunch of scary tattooed and pierced metal-heads, sheltered Melanie is relieved when the only normal-looking guy in the room insists on keeping her company.

By the time Melanie discovers that Gabe is the band’s drummer and not as normal as she assumed, she has already made a complete fool of herself. She can’t help but be interested in him, not as a rock star, but as the sexiest man she’s ever encountered. Strangely attracted to his hidden tattoos and body piercing, she wonders what it would be like to spend a night with a bad boy.

Gabe is more than willing to show sweet Melanie there’s more to him than meets the eye. All she has to do is try him. Will they only share a single night of passion? Or will their hearts entangle as quickly as their bodies?

Try Me is the first erotic novella in Olivia Cunning’s One Night with Sole Regret series.

Review: Surj Harvey:

This was a short but really sweet story (believe it or not) about two people who (on the face of it)were so poles apart that they couldn't possibly have anything in common. But dig a little deeper and they were more alike than they thought and to top it off, they both wanted the same thing.... each other. Yay.

Melanie had a fear of tattoos and  piercings, having been taunted at a very young age by a group of bikers. The last person she would ever put herself with is a member of a rock band. Forced to go to a concert with her friend, Melanie found herself at an after party feeling like a spare part. She wasn't looking for a one night stand let alone anything more but that night she got just that. On first sight, Gabe looked normal and she thanked her lucky stars she had finally met someone she could have a normal conversation with:

A totally normal name for a totally normal guy. She would have felt uncomfortable talking
to any other men in the room- tattooed, pierced, strange haircuts, chains and leather-
but Gabe looked as normal as she did.

An unfortunate incident meant Melanie got a sneak under his t-shirt  and low and behold, what was peaking out over his belt but a tattoo. then the hat came off and holy crap, there was a Mohawk and tattoos. This man was everything she would normally run from but she found herself strangely attracted to him. As the night progressed, they found out a lot about each other and by the end of the night, there was a connection that both were desperate to explore further:

Gabe wondered if she had any interest in trying something long distance.

Melanie's character on first glance appeared a little straight laced and predictable but actually there was a tigress just waiting to be unleashed. When she let go of her inhibitions, a whole new world opened up. She found herself doing things she would normally run a mile from both in and out of the bedroom. And Gabe, well despite his rock god persona, he was actually a bit of a geek. His inventions were .... (Phew... Fans self) not what you would expect the average science nerd to come up with. They were bedroom creations and by the sounds of it, they were hot!!!! And that means the sex scenes were hot. These two had chemistry and when Melanie let Gabe take the lead, the sex was off the charts. He had her doing all sorts and even begging for it. So out of character but she loved it. Nothing like stepping out of your comfort zone to give you the best orgasms ever!!!! But what would happen after their one night? Could a relationship possibly work?

Her sole regret was that her time with him would have to end
far before she was ready to let him go.

I enjoyed this novella. It was short but still contained the necessary ingredients to keep me reading: a hot tattoo'd rock star and a feisty heroine who were really cute together, wild sex and a story line that helped me lose myself for an hour... just what I wanted. If you have a bit of time to spare but not enough for a whole book, I'd definitely recommend picking this one up.
I rated it 3.5 Hearts
