Synopsis:

Would you be willing to make a mess of your life to get exactly what you want?

Kylie Lord has known Trent Moss and Dray Savage since college. Trent, the smart and kind-hearted humanitarian has had her heart from the moment they met, but someone else always has his. Dray is an arrogant professional football player who happens to be Trent’s best friend and Kylie’s nemesis “with benefits.”

Five years after graduation, Kylie is commanding the world with a new image and a successful business; however, she lacks the one thing she wants and the one thing she can never have. That is, until one fateful night when Kylie decides to go after all of her forbidden fantasies and risk everything.

Two men, completely different and poles apart, but together they are her idea of perfection. One can only offer her tonight and the other forever, but can Kylie settle for just one man, or can she have her cake and eat it too?

Review: Kirsty:

Once again Nicole Reed has blown me away. I feel like it has been an honour to watch her writing develop and grow from strength to strength. I was already a big fan of her Ruining series, so of course when I knew she was writing a new book I would be all over that. Turns out I was right to be so excited.. Cake was amazing.

"You need a good ole freaky sexing. Someone who doesn't care to bend you over,
lick it wet, and whisper dirty nothings in your ear."

We all know that the Ruining series was so dark and gritty, emotional and painful but incredible all the same. What I didn't know though, was that Nicole had the ability to write something so different. Cake isn't a fluffy book by any means - I shed plenty of tears, felt my heart racing on more than one occasion BUT laughed out loud more times than I could care to remember. It had the perfect mix.

Nicole's writing throughout Cake was flawless. I was engaged, addicted and felt completely in love with the characters. This is a love triangle but personally I didn't struggle with it too much because I felt one of the guys was a clear winner from the off. It wasn't an easy ride, my god it was so painful at times, but I always had faith that they would get there. ♥

"Shh. Just let it happen. For so many years, we've drawn our battle lines
and fought this war, but I'm waving the white flag."

Trent, Dray and Kylie.. what a mix. And two guys that couldn't be more different but at the same time, mean the entire world to each other. Kylie sure knew how to pick them that's for sure! Dray is the jock, the player, the asshole that hides his feelings in the form of hatred. Or Trent, the humanitarian, the guy Kylie has been in love with for as long as she can remember, the guy who sees her as just as a sister. How do you choose?!

"Can I marry Trent and fuck Dray because that sounds like the answer to my problems."

I have to mention one character quick. Aunt Leigh. I want an Aunt Leigh and I can bet every body in the world wishes they had one too. Her presence in the story was one of my favourite things. She wasn't just a secondary character to me, she was one of the mains and held just as much importance. I loved her.

"No matter what, I'm always going to be proud of you. It's not the circumstances we find ourselves in that define us, it's how we overcome them. I'm proud of you, baby girl.
Forever and always."

I haven't really said too much about the story, but just know that it is SO GOOD. It will keep you interested, engaged and completely on your toes. I never knew what was around the corner and I love when that happens. Go Nicole!
