This was one of those books that I just couldn't put down. I wanted to take the day off work and devour it in one sitting! Unfortunately I couldn't but It didn't take me long to finish. It was a fab read and looks set to be a great series.
The main characters were Liam and Amy. Something disastrous happened to Amy and her family, something so bad that it continued to consume her life. Amy lived in fear of someone finding her so she was forever having to change her identity and always starting yet another new life. Amy didn't get the chance to make new friends and it was definitely too dangerous for her to trust anyone or fall in love:
"Once again, my life is about to be turned upside down. Once again I will lose everything, and while everything is so much less then before, It's all I have."
Throughout the story Amy had flashbacks so I got a glimpse of the tragedy that haunted her. The mystery of why the events occurred continued as the story progressed. I was left wandering who was out to get Amy and why? There was also "The Handler" who was the one that helped Amy to change her identity. All of this kept me wanting to know more.
Amy met Liam at the airport and they were instantly attracted to one another. Liam was a hot, sexy billionaire. When they first met, Amy put up her defenses knowing that she shouldn't let Liam into her life. Liam was persistent though, wanting to get to know her better. It didn't take long for Amy to fall for Liam's relentless charm and the couple began to spend more time together. Liam truly cared for her and wanted to protect her, the way he acted towards her was just delicious.
"He makes me feel like I don't have to hold the world up on my own. And as crazy as it is, from the moment my eyes met his, he has had a way of making me feel like I am not alone."
The sex between them was just incredibly hot and despite Amy's reluctance to take their relationship further she found herself falling hard. I think I did too!
"I have never felt like this about anyone. I don't know what "his" is, except that it's intense in all the right ways and I don't want my past to destroy it"
Amy realised that she couldn't be without Liam and when she finally decided to tell him about her past she overheard a conversation that turned her world upside down yet again.
The story ended with a major cliff-hanger causing a very loud Nooooo from me! I really hope that Amy has overreacted to the conversation that she heard because I don't want anymore bad things to happening to her.
Book 2 in the series "Escaping Reality" is due to be released in October so not too long to wait.
This book is very well written and kept me hooked! It deserves an awesome 5 hearts!.
I understand how you feel. Just couldn't put this book down. It was done in three hours. Can't wait for the next one. 5 HEARTS!
