Synopsis:

THE STORY YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW...

When Kyle Calloway died, he took a part of Nell with him. She wasn’t the only one left to pick up the pieces, however; Kyle’s death left a gaping hole in the hearts and lives of his parents and his older brother Colton, and ultimately broke the will of the girl he loved.

THE STORY YOU NEVER IMAGINED...

Becca de Rosa is Nell’s best friend. When Kyle died, Nell was so devastated that no one could reach her, not even her best friend Becca. As she tries to help Nell through her grief, Becca’s own life is thrust into turmoil, and everything she knows is changed.

Jason Dorsey asked Nell out the week after her sixteenth birthday, but that date never happened. Instead, he ended up going out with Nell’s best friend, Becca. He had no way of knowing, then, how that one date would send him on a life-long journey with Becca. He had no way of knowing the tragedies and triumphs he would experience, or that in Becca, he might find the love of a lifetime.
THE HEARTACHE YOU’LL NEVER FORGET...

Review by Jo:

I fell in love with Jasinda Wilder's "Falling into You" so I was very much looking forward to reading the companion novel "Falling into Us".  From the very beginning of the story I knew I wouldn't be disappointed and that it would be just as good. The book follows the story of Kyle's friend Jason. If you need a reminder of who Jason is, he is the boy asked Nell out on a date at the beginning of "Falling into You". Nell agreed to the date but ditched Jason at the last minute to go out with Kyle.  This left Jason with a reservations at a restaurant but no-one to go with.

The story takes us back to when Kyle, Jason and Nell are still at school. Jason is a rising football star but his life's made unbearable by his dominating Father. Jason is beaten black and blue on a daily basis whilst his Mother turns a blind eye. Jason continues to play football not letting the beatings from his father affect him in any way.

No tackle would ever hurt as much as his fists.

When Jason gets ditched, Nell lets him know that her best friend Becca likes him so Jason invites Becca out to dinner instead. Becca has a huge crush on Jason and agrees to the date. One date leads  to another and soon the young couple find themselves in a relationship beginning their journey of first love:
"I haven't done anything with anybody else. Everything with you is my first."

It is lovely to see Becca and Jason's relationship grow and watch their love blossom. They form a strong bond and go through a lot together which only makes their relationship stronger.

"I know Id never love anyone the way I love Jason, and I knew I'd never try."

Throughout the story we are also treated to glimpses of Nell and Colt and their continuing journey together and we get to share in their very own "happy ever after."

"In those moments, scars were forgotten, nightmares were banished and fears were soothed.
Each breath, each kiss goodnight, each lullaby sung pushed the past further away, until hidden razor-blades and nights of pent-up tears were nothing but old memories of another life"

Each chapter in "Falling into Us" is written from either Jason or Becca's perspective, giving is the chance to know what each of them is feeling about the other. The story is beautifully written by Jasinda Wilder and I loved reading every bit of it.

Falling into us is an epic story and deserves an epic 5 hearts.
