Avoiding him becomes impossible after he offers a business proposition Alayna can’t turn down and she’s drawn further into his universe, unable to resist his gravitational pull. 

Soon Alayna’s charmed by Hudson in every way possible and the control over her old behaviors slip. When she learns Hudson has a dark history of his own, she realizes too late that she’s fallen for the worst man she could possibly get involved with. Or maybe their less than ideal pasts give them an opportunity to heal each other and finally find the love their lives have been missing.

Another pleasant surprise!

This book is a lot like others in one sense - the alpha male, the broken souls, the pair that shouldn't be together but can't deny their attraction. But at the same time, it is totally unique and a book all on it's own. The 'issues' that both the hero and heroine have that makes them so against love in their life I have never read about. In that sense, this book had its own edge.

Alayna, the heroine, was a great and interesting character. Throughout the book the author hints at a sketchy, stalky past. She has spent past relationships online stalking, stalking in person and obsessing over her loves. She knows her triggers, she knows the types of guys who are going to send her in to an obsessive mode, but unfortunately being around Hudson, she can't control that.

"You're looking for something temporary. Something fun to play with. And I get attached."

Hudson. I ♥'d him. He too has his own set of issues. After being told time and time again that he isn't capable of love, that is all he believes. He 'hires' Alayna to be his pretend girlfriend, fooling his friends and family that he is in love, in order to stop an engagement he doesn't want to be part of:

"I will continue to seduce you. I'm a man who gets what he wants. And I want you."

Hudson and Alayna agree come to an agreement. One that confused the hell out of me. In public they were to pretend to be a couple, a couple so in love they are on the verge of an engagement themselves. In private? They were still together. They had an attraction that neither could deny and their chemistry was off the charts. I'm not going to lie, it did confuse me, just as much as it did Alayna I'm sure. How would it ever be possible to separate the two? As you can imagine, it wasn't easy.. it was impossible. 

Fixed on You was a great debut novel and start to a series. I'm not sure what's to come next but I love how the first one left off. There was character growth, the story moved on in a possible way and there wasn't a cliffhanger that left me hysterical. The relationship is in a good place but I definitely want more. 

"We're falling in love. This is us, falling in love. Enough."

I am really hoping that some of the other characters get a chance at a book - Hudson's younger brother, was an intriguing character and I'd love to read a book about him.
