Blog Tour Review-Jo Rushton

"Provoke" was the first book that I've read by Missy Johnson and I was truly impressed. This book was brilliant. I was a gripping read that I just couldn't put down and as such managed to read it one sitting. It does however cover a disturbing subject so some people may find some of the scenes upsetting. 

The lead characters in "Provoke" were Mace and Leeta:

"He came from a bad family, and he had made some bad decisions in his life, 

but he was a good guy. He was my good guy." 

Mace was  hot, sexy and gorgeous. Yes ladies, you'll love him! Mace came from a family with a bad reputation but underneath all of his bad boy ways he has a heart of gold. The two most important things in Mace's life were his family and his beautiful girlfriend "Leeta" (swoon). 

"I was a good girl prosecutor in love with the son of a notorious gangland killer.

 I lived by the law, where is family made their own." 

I really admired Leeta. She was confident, feisty and brave and she put her love for Mace above anything else. She stood up for her man, not caring for his families notorious past because she knew the real "Mace" and she truly loved him with all of her heart. 

"There were so many layers to this man, and every one 

I peeled back revealed another reason for me to love him." 

I loved Mace and Leeta together, they were a beautiful couple and very sexy. There were some extremely delicious scenes that made me blush! Missy Johnson has given me my new book boyfriend with this man. The way that he treated Leeta just melted my heart. 

Mace and Leeta were extremely happy and in love and life was perfect (or so Leeta thought). Unfortunately her man had a secret... one I was desperate to know. Whatever it was, it was big and it was something he couldn't share.

"The guilt was eating me up inside. I could wrap it up however I wanted, 

but when it came down to it, she was never going to forgive me for this." 

Eventually Leeta found something on Mace's computer that shocked the hell out of her and Mace hasdsome explaining to do. 

"Talk to me. Make me understand. 

Give me a reason not to walk out that door the first chance I get." 

This is where the story really began to pick up pace. It was intense and exciting, it was edge of my seat reading. I really didn't know what was going to happen next. Would Leeta be able to forgive Mace? What would she be willing to sacrifice for the love of her life? I don't want to give anything more away because it will ruin the shock element but this book is so worth the read. 

So overall what did I think of "Provoke"? I loved every well written word and I was truly heartbroken when I reached the end. I was not ready to say goodbye to Mace and Leeta. I desperately wanted the story to finish with an epilogue and I was so disappointed when I discovered that there wasn't one. It would have been the icing on the cake to know what the future held for for this couple. Despite, the book not ending in the way that I wanted it too, everything else about the story was perfect and Mace and Leeta have become of my favourite book couples of this year! 

"We couldn't be any more different, but together we were perfect."

I will definitely will be reading more from Missy Johnson!  

I give "Provoke" 4.5 captivating hearts!
